Life's been keeping me away from posting lately, so here's an attempt to get back in: 4" wide Haband.

Glad to see you back Annixter. That Haband is a beauty!
Thanks for the comment on the thrift store finds. I've seen a few old Ike ties at antique stores, and boy, ain't they proud of 'em, so yeah - thrilled is a pretty good assessment

I found a few antique ones! I would guess early 1900's?

A short black clip-on:

An equally short black self edge one:

And my favourite with a really nice fabric:

Wow...those all are in really great condition for as how old they are. Would look fantastic being worn with a suit and waistcoat....

Those are very nice! From what I've seen, I really like the earlier 20th century ties. I own a 1900s/1910s off-white tie, myself. It is also very short, but I'm able to tie it in a decent length for my height, if I get the back end really short. I'm wondering what 1880s and 1890s ties looked like, though? Does anybody here own a tie made that early, from the 19th century?

All of you who don't like 'boring' vintage ties should look away now!

These were a very welcome gift from the Herringbone Kid. Cheers.

Well, for 'boring' they certainly are vibrantly colored. I really like the texture of the rough woven houndstooth one, could you post a close-up of the weave?

The colors of the Wembley are nice, very festive, certainly not banker or frat bro fare. There's just something about Wembleys I've always had a thing for. Way back in the 80s when I first started collecting vintage ties, I was scoring a lot of thin space age ones, and the little tag telling what colors to wear them with I always found an oddly cool feature. Like men of yore were so busy being manly that they couldn't take the time to make sure their tie looked o.k. with their suit or something.
