This vintage '40s tie is wonderful -- and it's deadstock. Didn't go for a big price:

And the fact that it's a Galet brought the price up...

I have several from an estate sale in the past, but they are not my particular favorites. I find them too wide. Actually, they are the widest ties that I have.

Yes, especially when the CM is embroidered at the bottom and not printed, like the later Countess Mara's.

The handpainted one is a Hollyvogue Handpainted in California. The swirly one's label says "Deutsch Clo. Co. Flandreau S. Dakota. I've never heard of it myself. but it has some awesome Jacquard printing on it that doesn't show up in the pics.

Hollyvogue is one of the best, direct from California!

Speaking of Hollyvogues, had my eye on this one for some time but haven't pulled the trigger (it's $12 but I usually try not to pay more than 10 for a tie if I can help it)

Do not tell me where you found it. I would buy it. Hawaiian theme ties are a weakness of mine.
That is a great example.
