Nice all!!
I remember when that LeTour was THE bike to have. At least in the states. Sweet.

I was pretty stoked to find an original work of art by Georgia folk artist R.A. Miller at a yard sale today for only $5.

Knowledge is power Dale! I wouldn't have known to give that a second look. Very cool...

Today's finds, a water jug from Westinghouse made by Hall China co, from the forties. My wife appreciates vintage kitchenware, so this was her find of the day at $8. My finds were a boot jack for $2, and a box of leather tools for $40. I like finding older American made leather tools, they are better than tools available now. The envelopes contain tools that were never used.

I gather the pitcher was an accessory for a Westinghouse refrigerator? I know we have some of those glass refrigerator dishes you see fairly often. Nice boot jack -- fits in well with the carved leather look. Great snag on the tools! My sister has my Grandfather's leather tools. She would probably use them more than I would (as I have no skills in that area). Congrats on the finds!

Nice Gazelle! (great finds all-around there D.) I wish the LeTour would have been in my local Schwinn dealer's showroom in '73 when I bought a Super Sport.

I hadn’t been on this site in quite some time, so these were some of the highlights since the last time. It wasn’t all in one stop. :)

Sorting through the remnants of my mother's possessions, I came across this find... a 1934 Chicago Century of Progress book mark in great condition. Being from Chicago, I've seen commemorative spoons and other items from 1934, but this is really nice. Brass with light blue enamel showing the Sky Ride, Ft. Dearborn, Federal Bldg. and Science Tower. I would have loved to have been there at the time.

I would say it was how I was raised, but Dad and Grandpa had Fords (or Internationals). I married into the GMC religion. :D

I think that's how most of us developed our vehicle preferences - what we were raised with, and in my case, what I am used to working on. Our family has always been a Ford and Jeep (Cherokees and Patriots) family. We use a lot of GM pickups, Suburbans, and Tahoes at work as utility and response vehicles though, and I will readily admit that they are solid vehicles too. My "poking" is intended as a friendly jab. :)

Riding around in that truck, wearing that beautiful Pendleton. Life must be good !

Life is good Ed (it was before the coat and truck too). I fit in the truck, but I don't fit in the Pendleton. If my daughter rejects it (like my wife did) it will go on the "pile of things to sell" (that I never seem to get around to selling).
