I found a hand carved tiki man and a couple of fishing poles this weekend.

Did anyone watch Police Squad! during its very short run in 1982? I wasn't alive then, but the humor stands the test of time.

Anyways, The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! is one of my all-time favorite comedy movies but never had a home copy, until last year.
I was ecstatic when I found it on VHS for 69 cents at Goodwill.

Went home, tested it, and works great!
But... I kid you not,
this scene was playing the moment it was in the VCR:

o_O Did the previous owner intentionally leave it at this scene?

I always wanted to take a Scenicruiser down Route 66. Though I have driven down parts of Route 66 I am too young to actually have been in one of these buses. I did, however, come across one in Arizona.

I was looking at a thrift store window today and saw this toy one, made by Lledo of England, and couldn't resist buying it for $5. Never thought I'd actually own one of these, even if it is only a toy! ;) I believe that this toy came out in 1997 as a promotion.

I was checking out my local thrift store again yesterday when I came across this little fella, an Italian resin Aquila, or State Eagle of the Roman Empire (yeah, I'm an amateur student of the Classics). He is about 8 inches tall and such a mean looking critter that I just had to buy him. He now resides in my study, glaring at me.

The old Apple Valley Inn had a "yard sale" of items found at the Inn after it closed. Mostly promotional material. I found this Western Stars magazine from 1948. It has a lot of photos and articles on western stars, boots, hats, roping, etc.

Also a postcard booklet of outlaw and gunfighter paintings by Lea McCarty, from 1956. His paintings hung in the Apple Valley Inn. Some of his paintings are hanging in Lil's Saloon at Calico Ghost Town

Swung by an estate sale on the way to work. Out the door for $50 with a few things. Adams hat with box, Churchill Panama hat with Caxton box (both need some help), three old ties, vintage Rogue canvas sneakers, and a jigsaw puzzle. Will post more pics in the appropriate threads.

Nice haul Bob! That Adam looks fantastic! The kicks are pretty cool too, and of course the ties.

Also some sweet scores by the Mrs.
