It was easier to cover bat & lath ceilings with tin than with plaster. You might enjoy seeing the stamping operation & equipment still used today. They still use the same wood blocks.
I found a hand carved tiki man and a couple of fishing poles this weekend.
Thanks Bob!Cool finds Dale! Diggin' the couch...
These were not from a thrift store or garage sale, but thought y'all might like 'em anyway.
Won them with a $4.00 bid.

You know I dig those duck glasses.....and what a deal! Congrats on that find!
Those are some cool finds!!The old Apple Valley Inn had a "yard sale" of items found at the Inn after it closed. Mostly promotional material. I found this Western Stars magazine from 1948. It has a lot of photos and articles on western stars, boots, hats, roping, etc.
Also a postcard booklet of outlaw and gunfighter paintings by Lea McCarty, from 1956. His paintings hung in the Apple Valley Inn. Some of his paintings are hanging in Lil's Saloon at Calico Ghost Town

While not quite a thrift store-actually it was a vintage clothing fair. But I managed to pick up some things at some good prices. An NRA, dinner jacket/vest/pants and an Elgin watch.
Nice haul Bob! That Adam looks fantastic! The kicks are pretty cool too, and of course the ties.Swung by an estate sale on the way to work. Out the door for $50 with a few things. Adams hat with box, Churchill Panama hat with Caxton box (both need some help), three old ties, vintage Rogue canvas sneakers, and a jigsaw puzzle. Will post more pics in the appropriate threads.
