This is the suit a friend sent to me from England. It was probably made just after WW II. The braces are also from England and instead of the leather have gold chains which is quite unusual I'm told.

I hate to say it, but i'm not convinced the suit is so old as you think. Bespoke, maybe, and a nice fabric. But the line of the lapels, lack of right lapel buttonhole, button placement, size of pocket flaps, single pleated trousers, and especially the label is pointing to a much more recent date. Nothing is saying postwar about this suit.

Not that that really matters, of course, but for reasons of accuracy . . .

p.s. The problem with the images above is a "http" duplication in the post. Not they read"http://http . . ." which will never work. The problem is that when you click the insert image icon when posting it puts in a "http" automatically. One needs to highlight and paste or delete and paste the location of the image.

Custom three piece tweed suit

Here are some photos of my new custom three piece tweed suit that were taken today. It's a "black" color tweed but if you can make out from the one close shot of the ticket pocket on the trousers there are a number of different colors that don't likely show well on monitors. Also the photos aren't as sharp as I would have liked,but I think that the outdoor natural light helps a bit. The trousers are high waisted;the top of the waistband is a little more than an inch above my navel. They have outside brace/suspender buttons and no belt loops (sorry but I don't have any photos with the waistcoat off yet). Thanks for looking.

Who made this, Sefton? It looks quite cool. The fabric is really interesting.

My only point of interest is the break on the trousers... looks like it could be taken up just a smidge.

Thanks Jovan. The suit was made by Al's Attire in the North Beach section of San Francisco. Yes,I agree that the break is a little too much. I actually mentioned this to Al a couple of times but it seems to have gone by him. I'd say it's about a 95 out of 100 to me as far as capturing what I wanted so I'm satisfied for my first custom order.

Very Nice ..different colour baker boy cap - the colours are too close.... IMHO
