A stroke of luck, did I want to buy these at 40% off? They are brand new but have been unloved and forgotten. A good clean, change the laces and they will soon be gracing my feet.

I recently got these Alden shell cordovan Oxfords second hand. They were barely worn however the previous owner obviously never cleaned them nor brushed them (that’s why I got them at a quarter of their retail price here in Europe). I spent an hour or so with a brush, deerbone, saphir d’or cordovan cream and a lot of sweat and they now look like new.

Interesting shoes Lopo. I have only read reviews on-line about the shoes. I have never seen a pair in the wild. Any reflections?

Thanks for sharing your unique Brogued shoes.

Cheers, Eric-
Hi Eric,
I have a few pairs of Stefanobi Norvegese shoes. I like the outstanding design and the difficult perfect handwork.
Opposite to some descriptions online, these are not decorative stitches but difficult manual work that only a few artisans are able to do.
Greetings Werner

Popping in here to ask a question (it's research for my novel!)

I need one of my characters to be wearing a German brand dress shoe in America in 1942. He bought the shoes in Germany sometime in the 1930s, and they were not available in the United States. What would the brand be? What would be the identifying mark? Would Ludwig Reiter shoes work? Thank you, thank you, in advance!
