Can anyone tell me what the deal is with the crystal drop earrings? The clips must be broken, there's no way for them to stay on the ears. I've never seen anything like it.

The crystal drop earrings look fine to me, actually. Do they just not clip tight enough to stay on?

The clips look kindof like these, right?

Ohairas, those shoes are to die for!! I especially love the Mary Janes!!

On the earrings, I think there is a site somewhere on the FL that tells how to do it. I have had bad luck trying to adjust them myself. :( If you don't want to do it yourself, you might try an older jeweler, or you could consider adding clip-on pads. That would take up some of the room and might make them fit more snuggly.

I recently acquired a REAL 1960's Christian Lacroix overcoat from Paris. Someone donated it to our thrift shop, and after numerous threats, I got my little hands on it. :::swoon:::

This is the real deal, an actual piece of Couture! I am so excited to share this with you. I just have to bring it to the tailor to fix a couple small problems and than I will post. It's simply smashing.

You all have such great taste!!

How long did it take you to make your first vintage ebay purchase? I haven't done it yet just because I am so nervous something won't fit right or won't look as the picture shows. I do know that once i start I won't stop!

MsBrill...ohh how i love your new avatar!

Ebay can be tricky - I'll be the first to admit. The things I learned was that I always account for an extra inch in the waist so things aren't too tight. Always check the measurements, perhaps against something you already own. Also look for a home that is smoke free - I've gotten some wonderful items that just were unwearable due to a stench. I look for someone with paypal because I think it's simpler and look for reasonable good feedback for your seller. I also think that I bring a few items into a tailor for a quick nip and tuck and have been happy with that.

Good luck!

Yes, this kind is very easy to tighten with a small pair of pliers. There is a thread on adjusting clip-on earrings at http://www.thefedoralounge.com/showthread.php?t=20115

Thanks for looking that up Kitty! I'll have to give it a go.

Love the black pair of shoes Ohairas! Where did you get them?
IOF, I got them at Burlington Coat Factory. They're Unionbay brand. Tonight while at Gordmans I saw a pair by Rampage that were like them only no strap and a bit rounder toe.

I'm excited too, as I watched A Christmas Story for the millionth time tonight I saw that Ralphie and Randy have a chair a the desk table in their room just like the ones I bought for Nova, hehe!

I've done this in the past and ended up getting things too big in the waist, I think maybe the seller had already decreased the measurement a bit :(

I've found though that if its a nice item and it doesn't fit, you can sometimes exchange/part exchange it at a local vintage store, so all is not lost!

I love that table and chair, they are gorgeous. I'd like to see a picture of the whole room! I love cowboys and indians stuff.
