I also got lucky at an antique store over the weekend. A 40's knit set for $12.50 and a 30's dress for $7.50! No pics yet...

When I got home from work Saturday my flower pot dress had arrived!

I can't wait to see what you wear WITH it!!

Well, I'm on the lookout for a fantastic vintage gown, but the long dresses I've seen lately have gone for insane prices so I will probably make my own from one of the Vintage Vogue patterns.

The two strong contenders V2610 and V2858.

If anyone has made these patterns could you let me know your experience with them in the sewing thread (I'll post this plea there too). Thanks!

Walmart alert!

Girls I got this adorable dotted swiss blouse at Walmart this week.. they had some striped ones too, (not dotted). $10 club.

I love this print, so patriotic-ish. Please ignore the hair, I didn't do anything to it except put in combs that day.

Imoldfashioned, my Mum wants to make the first pattern up for me. She has even bought the material - plain brown for the dress and cream with a self pattern for the jacket. She made me a dress for Christmas that I will have to post as it came out beautifully.

At last, I can add pictures of some things I have bought!

A 30s plaid georgette dress. Hard to see but it has little squares of yellow and orange on it.

Bit short in the body for me, so will probably go to a good friend of mine who is a redhead - I'm sure it would look fab on her.

Also a nice everyday 1930s hat

You may have guessed, but I love the 1930s!

I haven't been in Wal-Mart for a while, and Goldwin just anwered my thought if they have it here, next question is, do they have it in larger size. I think I may have a trip to Walmart today!

Vogue Patterns

Hello, I made that middle dress from a vogue pattern and it was awful. The waist/hip line on it is murder to line up and if you're not 'boyish of figure' shall we say it doesnt flatter.
However, I did make the jacket from pattern no.1 for my friend and it made up like a dream.

I bought this dress: off ebay-it's modern and I liked it in the pic but when it turned up it is shorter than I thought and it has a strand of gold running through it which I don't like. It also reveals waaaaay too much busom. My other half loves it but I

'm not so sure!!!

Kitty Sheridan: The dress is cute. The description stinks. New 50s? What does that mean? Color: WHITE??????? No mention of the beautiful flowers much less the gold strand. Perhaps a nice flower pin (silk or enamelled metal) in the bosom to hold everything together would be more comfortable?
