Having a few nice vintage things is comforting to me.

Now I know what gals back then meant when they went out to buy a hat to lift their spirits. This week so far has been trying, but I know we're not given more than we can handle. It's not too trivial to say these adorable hats help. Yay!

Beautiful hats! I sent your dress in the mail today so look for it soon! I agree with you, we are never given more then we can handle. Sometimes we must go through some tough times to be able to enjoy the good times! It's just so easier to keep your head up when you have a beautiful hat sitting on top of it ;)

Great hats, Begin! I wish my head weren't so big, I would love one of Lauren's lovelies! I hope that things smooth out for you soon :) Just when hubby and I were terrified about how we would afford baby, a promotion at work came out of the blue today (for the hubby, I forgot to clarify, hehe) :) I hope that something equally wonderful happens for you!

Just scored these beauties today in my favorite thrift. I've been looking for a vintage swimsuit for ages, and I can't believe that I found two in my size at the same store! (Plus a tie for my hubby- I was on a roll! :) ) All the elastic is still stretchy and the fit is so much more flattering than new swimsuits! :D :D :D :D I'm just so happy I found these!!!

SHOES!!!! and some other stuff

OMGosh.... ok, so Nine West is having an amazing sale!

I picked up these flip-flops. I am NOT a flip-flop kinda girl. In fact these are my first pair since I was prolly 8. But they are cute and they can come in handy. Especially for this trip I'm going on next week. Plus my sorority mascot is the ladybug and the print is ladybugish. Oh.... I got them for $19.99

I'll have to put linkys cuz I can't figure out how to load pictures.

http://www.ninewest.com/n/browse/pr...x=30&prodIndex=30&listSize=33&categoryId=1031

I also got these!!! I have been looking for the perfect pair of T-straps for years now! And these have a peekaboo toe. And that can't be beat especially for $29.99

http://www.ninewest.com/n/browse/pr...dex=3&prodIndex=3&listSize=33&categoryId=1031

And lastly.... I was at Sephora (or the mothership as hubby likes to say) to get some more Ojion hair stuff and I saw IT!!! Auquolina Pink Sugar (smells like cotton candy) in a compact perfume solid!!! Thank you God! Now I can take my fav perfume on my trip cuz ITS NOT A LIQUID!!! The pic looks small but its about the same size as an average compact. $22

http://www.sephora.com/browse/brand_hierarchy.jhtml?brandId=5770

And lastly.... more shoes.... I saw these at Nine West also but didn't get them. I'm budgeting for the trip. But they are a perfect fit, vintage looking, and classic. Oh, and $29.99.

http://www.ninewest.com/n/browse/pr...dex=1&prodIndex=1&listSize=35&categoryId=1024

Hope all the linkys come out OK. Sorry if I spazzed but it was one of those great shopping days.

BOSTON! LETS GO PATRIOTS!!!
I've been rather busy this past week and haven't really been checking up on this thread. Wow, you ladies have as usual found the most incredible things. Literally pages of fantastic finds since I last checked in.

I'll just give an all around congrats to each and every one of you:eusa_clap
Kitty I did have to mention that train case. It's so incredibly interesting, and filled with such cool stuff. I love finds like that, although I have honestly never found anything nearly as interesting and as cool as what you have found.
So, what are you going to do with that opium??? lol
It's really strange that you came across that. I see a pain doctor, and he told me that for some patients with chronic pain they actually still use opium based pain meds!!! I thought he was joking, but he wasn't. I guess that they'd rather give opium based products for severe pain than have a patient take a bunch of other pain meds that just don't work, either because their pain is so bad or because they have been taking pain meds for extended periods of time. I guess when it comes down to it, some of the best treatments are the original treatments.

Well, great finds ladies!! My dry spell is finally over. I bought a pretty dress on ebay a few days ago. Not too much money, and I was really good, I only bought the one dress and didn't bid on anything else!! I was very proud of myself. Aside from the one dress, I hadn't bought anything off the bay in nearly 2 months!! Now that takes serious will power!! But, I am trying to actually save some money and I went a bit overboard a few months ago, way beyond my means. I did buy a few pretty dresses, a dressing gown and some stockings at a local vintage shoppe a week ago. But I did get good deals on them all, the stockings, still in the box were only $8, and there were 4 pairs in the box!! Definitely a good deal. I will try to get some pictures up soon.

Again really great finds all of you ladies. You all have such great taste. Oh yeah, congrats to you Goldleaf on your hubby's promotion:eusa_clap What wonderful news!! I'm truly happy for you both. I hope that you are feeling great!!

Workbasket Magazine

I don't have a picture, and I'm download challenged.

I picked up at leat 50 Workbasket Magazines, ranging in age from the mid 40's through the late 50's for $20. I love the flea market.

Hi Ladies,

I've tried to keep my spending to a dull roar lately, but I found this gorgeous necklace for a relative song in a shop on the Cape during my vacation last week and I couldn't resist.

My poor photo doesn't do the piece justice--it is vintage Trifari; "emeralds" surrounded by baguette "diamonds" with smaller baguette "diamonds" making up the chain. I'm going to have a jeweler make me a short removable extender since it fits like a choker right now and I'd like a little more slack.

I can't wait to wear it on the Queen Mary!
