Beautiful! Howdid you do thefront wave?

Thanks! Let's see if I can type it out: I put my bangs into a standing pin curl winding toward the right side of my head. Also on the right side are two flat pin curls, the top one winding toward my face and the bottom toward my ear. I leave them overnight. In the morning I shake them out and grab my mini duckbill clips and a fine tooth comb. I comb the bangs back on a diagonal, and insert a clip. Then I comb the second pin curl toward my face, and insert a clip. I comb the last pin curl back toward my ear and clip. Give it a good spray, take the clips out, and voila! :)

Its the same idea as doing a finger wave, only I use clips in place of my fingers and the direction of the pin curls make my hair want to be combed into a wave.

Thanks for the sweet comments all!

It looks lovely. Do your curls do that on their own, or do you have to give them some guidance to get them at just that perfect angle? By guidance, I mean extra curling, obviously you have to comb and such.
I use large-ish rollers, put in pomade and brush with a paddle brush instead of a bristle brush to get it curly like that. The pomade helps to separate the curls.

And Runa, it's so nice to see another Edmontonian!!!

I'm going to duck my head in for just a moment to apologize for the crappy phone pic and my lack of posting but this one came out so nicely. I haven't been setting my hair much lately and for it to look this good made my day!

Antje, your beehive is just lovely! I've tried that look once but had problems with the front and sides since I don't have bangs. I envy how easy you make it sound. ;)

Just a couple of photos that have been waiting to be uploaded. I've been getting into a routine of doing some rather simple vintage updos since it's been humid here so I feel like most of the time I am wasting my time trying to get a good set out of curls. :p

I am getting so much better with rolls so victory rolls with curls arranged in the middle and the rest in the back down and wavy has been a constant:

I tried finger waves again but this time I set them the night before and slept with the duckbill clips in. For the most part, it worked out, but the one side didn't hold very well when it came to brushing out, which I blame on my sleeping position and the fact that I don't think I had the waves set very well so that noticeable crimp was there while drying.

The back was pinned up low to the nape of the neck.

My husband was playing around with his camera today trying to get the right lighting. Anytime I hear him say he is going to play around I run and put some make up on so I can be the subject matter. ;)

You're prettier than Miss Lemon in the Agatha Christie series Poirot ♥

Hi SheBear! I'm tickled to see your hair all perfect all the time (and the stuff you've posted on the Made thread, good lord girl.). My length and the humidity are not cooperating with me!

It's not the best, but it's my first time playing with pin curls and hair ratts. I made the hair ratts myself with a synthetic hair bought from Sally's and a hair net. Despite having 3b hair, the pin curls turned into frizz curls, and the curl just fell straight through the day. Everyone at work loved it. One day I'll figure out a way to make them look a little more "victory" than just a roll. lol! I'm learning I actually love 40s hair. I've kinda been obsessed with 60s hair (you though, the bouffant look) and I think this works a lot better than teasing and hairspray I suffered through. I definitely have to find a better holding product for the frizz, though. Hairspray doesn't cut it.

It's been ridiculously hot in the Midwest lately so I basically just piled a whole bunch of curls on the top of my head and topped it off with a flower :)
Kept the hair off my sweaty neck so I considered it a success : )

Here is my hair today, nothing too special, I did it quickly but I really like how it turned out. And for those of you who remember I cut my hair rather short in October, as you can tell it has gotten much longer.

I haven't had bangs in over twenty years... I don't know how I'm feeling about it yet...
