I gave up on the salon because it wasn't working out. I tried to get a purple ombre twice and just nothing. So I did it myself at home, in black. I also did pin curls and while I apparently' wasn't good enough to make it actually curl anything, it did somehow make it so that my hot roller set held ALL DAY at the fair, in high humidity, which is completely unheard of. I'm feeling pretty great about the whole thing right now :)

Very pretty, MissLaurieMarie! It really makes me wish I had longer hair so I could do something similar. I used to have a donut with a button so it could be used etiher 'round' or like a straight roll. Really nifty!

My waves are slooooowly improving. This is a shot from last week:

It's a wet set with foam rollers that I brushed out. So far that and "Lix Storm" are the only hairstyles I've managed.

i adore your hair!! :) now i regret not cutting my hair just a tad shorter hahahaha

Inspired by Lisa Freemont Street's 30's fake bob - and decided to pin the hair up on one side. Please keep in mind, this was taken after a looong day in the lab :) and I'm pants at taking pics using a mirror :)

This one shows a bit, how I pinned the curls

Because I now ride my bike to work and need to shower when I get there (yes, hair too) I can't set it like I usually do. I've been experimenting with something simple/ob the go and here's my current favourite - a roll/wave thingy in front and then pin it back and cover with scarf (we're very informal at work during summertime). Does it look OK?

We have all these threads going about how to do this or that with your hair. . .but no final product for people to admire.
So. Show us your best vintage hairstyle re-creations and tell us how you did it.
Sometimes it's best not to say anything until it's happened. But, sticking my neck out. Next weekend, July 6th, we will be at a popular Swing-Jive weekend event known as: "Hep Cats." Also there, will be a film crew from the television company: Channel 4. My wife, in her spare time, is a retro hair stylist. The Channel 4 presenter, we don't know who that maybe yet, wants her hair styled: "40's, victory rolls." This will be filmed, and, at the same time, my wife will be interviewed. Once done, I'll put it up on YouTube for all to see. Watch this space. Or, the egg on the face if she is stood up!

This look was pretty much an experiment with duck bill clips and a large barrel curling iron

A lesson in how to grow old disgracefully. Thoroughly disgracefully. Pic taken by the photographer at our God-daughter's wedding,

Don't mean to sound dense, but are you joking that the people in the pic are disgraceful because they are actually very fun and cool, or do you really think they're over the top? I love the picture and the lady who dares to have fun with her hair color and that she and the gentleman look to be having a great time and enjoying each other.
