AmyJeanne, I love, love, LOVE novelty prints. I think they look so great in dresses and skirts. And I wear them to work too, much to the amusement of my Gap/J Crew clad coworkers.

Miss Becky, I also used plastic zip ties in place of featherweight boning in the last dress I made. I works perfectly in a pinch!

Everyone's been making such neat stuff!
I made this blouse from a nice flannel that I got from Joann's on clearance for the Air Raid on Saturday. I also made my husband's jeans he's wearing in this picture. They were drafted off of a pair of 30s collegiate pants he owns and made to look like a catalog picture we found.

The clothes are simply wonderful! I feel like I have a secret window to the past when I look at you two. You're expressions are priceless! Makes me wonder if that boy is going to ask that girl to do something next Saturday too. Somehow, I think he just might! You should frame this one, Lauren.

Jenniferrose7, yes, plastic zip ties are very convenient and cheap, and also something a pro might NOT use!

But hey, she wants a light weight dress (summer wedding), and she likes to move around and breath...not be tied into a corset, she's an active gal and hates to feel 'trapped' lol So they are perfect. She would have never known they were plastic zip ties, if I didn't tell her lol

LD, fantastic as always! I love the "everyday" outfits I think as much as the dresses we would only see in movies.

Lauren, I can't even tell you how much I love the outfits. (I can only see the one photo of you both sitting down though, boo )

Cici, the jumper and blouse are wonderful! Love the blue with the creaminess of the white. Do you talk about the pattern on a previous post? I was thinking about getting it. You've done such a beautiful job with it!

Has anyone had experience with Vogue V2401? I picked it up yesterday at JoAnne's for a song along with enough chocolate brown taffeta to make a nice dress for Thanksgiving (JoAnne's is having a fantastic sale btw). Tips, tricks and things to look out for are greatly appreciated, since I'm still new at this.

Hi cynroux, did you finish this? I couldn't find another post saying you did, but I didn't search all that thoroughly. I made this dress last year to wear to a wedding. I didn't have any problems with the pattern but wearing it was a PAIN. Because the front doesn't actually attach to the back, whenever I sat down the overlay parts fell and I flashed large chunks of my petticoat. I need to make a back for the underlay before I wear it again.
