I made the bolero and pants. I cut the pant pattern wrong which is why I added the red stripe down the side.

Ah, gussets can hide a number of short comings Ive added a few my own self.

Dead pan, that dress looks great on you! Its one of the best Ive seen from that pattern!

Here are some peacock and feather accessories I whipped up a couple weekends ago. My friend was having a birthday and she loves peacock feathers, so I made her a broach (on the far right). With the leftovers I made myself a peacock hair clip and another hair clip (pheasant??) with a couple of vintage buttons.

Talking a page from my new wartime sewing manual, I decided to use some scrap I had in wool and silk and make an evening bag.

I pretty much went by the directions here except I made it 10" in diameter, a fabric button hole, and trimmed the visible inside with black instead of the silk lining. There is a lot of hand stitching, but i made it in half an afternoon.

Its large enough to hold all my modern items (phone camera wallet) for a night!

I am just in love with this new booklet I got. I cant believe how inspiring it is to me. It just has basic instructions and great tips on being creative.

There is a suggestion on a quilted jacket I may do, once I get some cotton batting

I used a compass for the original buckram circles, then just followed the width of my presser foot in a spiral as I sewed.

It was almost too easy lol

LD -- I love it! I love the yellow button. Great touch. Also, the bottom lefthand photo looks like a fish with it's mouth open and it made me giggle a little bit.

1940s skirt made today all by myself. The checks are just a tiny bit off in places, but for the most part they look pretty decent. Not bad for someone who's only been sewing since September!! From this:
