Lol I volunteer for my son's high school marching band so a large group of people found out I sew. :p

This is today's skirt, yep I used that pattern yet again. I am seriously going to need an intervention since I have some pink brocade that is going to be done up in one too. I am going to try my first strapless dress soon. I've never worked with boning so that should be interesting. lol

Added the pink one. :D

Very creative of you, SheBear!

You wouldn't know it from the pattern photo, but the skirt in the Butterick 5687 wardrobe has a little flounce in the back very like that one. I have that pattern but haven't tried it -- might have to bump it a bit higher up my list!

You can just pull that flounce pattern and add it to the skirt ;) I like the way the 2654 has a super high waist.

Not vintage but I always laugh when I see this fabric. It's my mom's birthday and I always make a reuseable gift bag when I give a gift. I figure she can take use it at the beach. :)

My sister, who is my polar opposite when it comes to hair and makeup, wanted me to make her a little black dress. My compromise was to make this Retro Butterick pattern using a knit cotton material. I basically just left off the zipper. It's really soft and comfy which should make her happy and I tried not to cringe when she asked if she could wear it with combat boots. lol I give her credit though she said she likes the shoes I wear.

I made a hat. '20s inspired, of course! :)

I used one of those felt cones and free-form blocked and shaped it, and added some trimming I made out of black wool.

I think it turned out pretty neat. A pity I won't get much use out of it before it gets too warm to wear it...

This was from a shoot we did the other day. I did the retro butterick from 1960 in a jersey knit and thankfully my sister doesn't like how long it is so I am keeping it. lol I made the apron and flower as well.

Beautiful work everyone. I moved last month to a much smaller place and still haven't got my sewing space in order ,but here are to things I made before the move.

This was made for the evadress contest. It's made from Silk Dupioni which I think is a little stiff for the draping on the bodice. It would have been much nicer and percise had I done it by hand but I was afraid the fabric would ravel before I could have finished it. The skirt is lined with net so it doesn't need a crinoline. I still need to make a belt.
