Hardly equal to the beautiful garments other ladies show on here, but I made myself flannelette French knickers to keep me a bit warmer in the winter.

I used this schematic: http://www.frillybits.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/img-slips.jpg to draft my own pair. I still need to add poppers to the sides to do them up, but it's been surprisingly mild here so there's no rush!

I haven't posted in a while I have been busy working on stuff for my son's school's marching band. :D For a Christmas present I am taking my son to see his favorite jazz artist Dave Koz so I made this dress to wear. It's not from a vintage pattern but I plan on wearing a vintage hair style with it. ;)

wow. SheBear that dress is wonderful.
I love that material. It makes me want to have a tea party.

So many things here are wonderful. All you ladies would laugh if you could see me trying to make my first jacket ever.

She Bear, that really reminds me of something my Mother would have made herself and worn in the early 60s.

I made two practical tweed skirts for Winter and an event I have happening over New Year. Both tweeds from the charity shop and both made from vintage 1930s patterns.

Again this isn't from a vintage pattern. My husband had cleaned out his closet so I took a couple of his old t-shirts and made a nightgown. :)

I decided to follow along with BoPeep's apron challenge. I am starting late, but it looked like so much fun I couldn't help but want to play along. I am loving reading her blog too! :)

This one sports a turkey on the apron and next to it. lol

That is so cute! I love the turkey and the colors!

So, on a sort of related note, I was helping my mother-in-law to sort through some of the linens in my husband's grandmother's house. His grandmother had about 9 aprons, and my MIL asked me why she had so many. I told her that women used them, and they didn't have many clothes to wear (and didn't do wash all the time), so they protected their clothes and also used aprons to dress up their outfits at home. It was a little funny, because she was so mystified at how a woman could use more than one apron.

I was just thinking of how much has changed that having more than one apron is considered excessive but having more than one TV is considered normal.

That's a very good point. I am always surprised at how many ladies compliment my sewing and follow it by saying how they just can't sew. I encourage as many people as I can to at least try it! On your line of thinking how much is a flat screen and how much is a sewing machine? ;)

Aprons I just love! Specially the frilly ones, they go so well with a full skirt. :) I had a friend give me some of her mother's stash. Her mom is elderly and can't sew anymore. I pulled that turkey from the stash and just love that it came from her.

Here in Florida it doesn't really get cold enough for a heavy winter jacket so I made this out of fleece. I need to go find a cute button for the front. :)
