After admiring everyone's work on here for a good few months I finally decided to get myself off the sofa and have a go myself.

I'm so glad I did! I'm very happy with the results for my first attempt, I had no major disasters and the dress even fits! I'm sure it was either an easy pattern or beginner's luck, but it's encouraged me to have another go and I've been out and bought the fabric already :D

Here's a closer pic so you can see the top and the pattern a bit better (managed not to chop my head off on this one too ;))

Whew, I finally finished this dress. Two things I'm not too crazy about are:
1. The fabric choice. I wasn't too happy about its lack of flow and weight.
2. The grading I did for this pattern. I'm very inexperienced so I attempted to grade the pattern with the little knowledge I have. I think I did alright, but next time I hope to do this part better.
Overall I'm happy though.

I don't know why, but I really liked the shoulder pads I made.

Those are some handsome shoulder pads. Lovely dress and I think its the first time Ive ever seen a dress made exactly like the pattern illustration.

You will totally get better at grading. You dont even want to see some of my first grading projects. Your dress puts them to shame!
