Ladies,

Let me introduce you to my latest project, my little girl, Georgia Poppy! Born Februrary 26th and I'm so proud of my little Peach.

And thanks ladies for all of your inspiring craftiness to get me through my pregnancy and my crazy job. I've been rather quiet this past year and it might continue, but I love reading and seeing everyone else's great handiwork. I just need to nurse mine!

It's so funny--it feels like yesterday that I asking for tips on how to do a vintage style wedding on the lounge in 2006 and now I have a whole new little one to introduce to the way of vintage! Tee hee!

AWWW how sweet! I'ts photos like this that make me wish I didn't have my hysterectomy...just for a split second. hehe :D I love the name Poppy...My fav flower!

I would say buy for the size you will be while wearing it. So yes, with the girdle. And be sure to look at the charts, because pattern sizes are not the same as RTW. Also, buy for the bust measurement since it's easier to adjust the waist than anywhere else.

So I thought I would get alittle creative and just do something for the fun of it. I went to Michaels and they had a great sale on feathers and felt sooo.. there I went. I think with practice I will get better at the design.. but these are my first ones ever :)

They sit very pretty on the hair and I have attatched a hair clip to make it easier to put on. It was so much fun.. I cant wait to make some hats :)

Miss 1929 you have read my mind!! I have been thinking this very thing lately. Since Beauty has it's own I think sewing should. The "sewing lessons and faq thread" has become impossible to search. I don't mind things being consolidated but sometimes I think it gets too hard to read through 80+ pages on one general subject when you are looking for something very specific.

What do the MOD's think about this??

Leila: Those are great! I am all in mind of hats and fascinators at the moment with Easter around the corner. Not that we actually do hats as a tradition for easter, but this time always makes me think of easter bonnets, and then I get the whim to make and shop.

I had to make the bust darts larger, lengthen the front waist tucks and add a third button, but I think it came out great! My first time working with and altering a vintage pattern.:D

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for posting this!!!!! First, it looks amazing. You did a terrific job and I love the fabric you chose. The reason I'm thanking you, though, is because I've got 2 1/2yd of this floral cotton that I adore but have been struggling to find just the right pattern for. This is it!! I think I can mock it up in my pattern software, but I'm going to look online as well. Thanks again!
