Ive cannibalized a few projects, and managed to make up some stuff.

The two skirts are from the same pattern, and the green calico dress is a staple of a pattern Ive nearly made to death. Details are here.

Woohoo!! finished my first pair of trousers. I made i few changes from the original pattern but i am quite please with the results, i need to take them in a bit on the thighs and iron them better but... anyway here they are:

Those look fantastic Lorena B :eusa_clap I LOVE the black buttons on both sides.

To answer your question about duration of projects, the skirts took from cut out to button on waistband about 3 1/2-4 hours (hem not included). I consider the hemming part the wind down and generally save it for when Im watching TV or on the bus They are painfully easy.

The stuff for me that takes the longest are collars and collar facing. I like to match them up as best I can.

The dress, because Ive made it so many times before took about 5-6 hours (minus hem).

This ones took me a week!! Mind you, i wasn't at them everyday and in the middle of the proyect my sewing machine let me down so i have been sewing by hand, :whip: What a chore!!

Okay, I took a couple pictures of the only thing I have made of late that is remotely period appropriate. The body of the shirt fits well, but next time I have to lengthen the sleeves for my monkey arms. When I get to some more vintage projects I will post them, but lately I have been working like mad on some costumes that will play double duty for a sci-fi costume contest (fantasy actually) and Halloween. And all my other sewing is way to early for this forum!

wow, i thing is really beautiful, i love the sleeves, were they difficult? i always have heard that sleeves are one of the tough ones!!

You have all been making such cool threads and can get stuff done so fast - I am a sloooow turtle when it comes to finishing a project!! Congrats to all of you for a job well done!

Here's a dress that seems to have taken me forever, but I had to finish it by the 18th of October for my 30 year High School Reunion. It is the 1940's Sense and Sensibility Swing Dress and was pretty straightforward to make.

It's a rayon fabric, and I the only modifications to the pattern were to add 1/2 inch to the bodice length and I shortened the skirt approximately six inches (I am 5'4" tall).

I am lucky to be wearing my newly acquired gold charm bracelet from my great-aunt Enid. The oldest dated charm is my great-uncle Harold's Lacrosse charm from 1934. It's a treasure!

Lorena B, I absolutely hated sleeves when I started sewing! Ahhh! But, honestly you get the hang of it and really then they are all generally the same thing with minor modifications. But I still always have trouble making sure they are long enough. Ah well, I'll get it someday!

Lady Day, I looooove pin tucks too! And other than the messy measurements on the pattern (something I will have to check and fix on the next shirt) they were surprisingly easy on this pattern, even when one is set to run across on of the many darts!
