Also from my collection (a recent acquisition): Here we have President Coolidge again (along with other Presidents), comparing the "Presidential Styles" on display for the Inauguration. Much is made of Eisenhower breaking precedent by wearing a Homburg. Also note that Kennedy DID IN FACT wear a hat at his Inauguration!!! (Truman wore a topper too, but this photo was from inside the presidential limo where he had it on the seat next to him.) News-wire photo dated Jan 16th 1965..........

Mark -- Forgive me if you did, in fact, buy this letter. This ties in with hat makers desire for Kennedy to wear hats more often.

I am a big fan of classic movies and tv shows. That being said, I enjoy the 1970’s show the Rockford Files. It is especially enjoyable for me because it brings back many pleasant memories of watching with my family (mainly Mom and myself) when I was a child. I am also classic car guy and a fan of fedoras. Couple the fore mentioned all together and it makes the show a “home run“ in my opinion.
Jim Rockford’s father Rocky, played by Noah Beery Jr. wears what appears to me to be a Stratoliner with a square unsymmetrical bash. It is an awesome looking hat. It fits the persona of the character perfectly. I’m not sure if his hat has been discussed here or not, so I figured I would post something about his fedora.

He does seem to favor them more these days,in fact he wore one when inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.It seems Hank is wearing more fedoras these dayys.
Although it appears that fedoras are old hat to Hank and Johnny.
