Here is the good Doctor sporting a......Tilley?
Seems I have seen a few images of Mr. Thompson wearing this hat.
For some reason I just don’t get Gonzo and Tilley. He sort of makes it a cool hat.....almost. I’m so confused!

Drink in hand, bullwhip around his neck, Valeo gloves worn while standing around, bird of prey mounted behind him and probably a concealed weapon or two on his person. Gonzo, tilley or not.

I'd love to know what page the dictionary is open to. The mind reels at the possibilities.

Sent directly from my mind to yours.

This photo isn't of someone famous, outside of our family anyway. But I didn't know where to post this so thought this was good enough. This is a photo of my father-in-law in the 1930's sporting his old 1927 Model T Ford, saddle, bedroll, and a great Western hat. He was a working cowboy in the Nebraska Sandhills for about 50 years. I love this photo. He was a good man.

After years of denial, my brother finally came across the original to an old family pic of my grandfather in a hat. Serious tilt, wide ribbon, asymmetrical "wonky" brim and what looks like a gambler or pork pie crown treatment. This is probably taken in the late 1910s - 1920s.
