My only 3 western hats, I use it in ranch, never in city (sometimes in Halloween).

I've been thinkin' about this thread. I am still getting new hats, so it's just impossible to figure what my "top ten" would be right now. I still have my very first fedora and I loved it when I first got it. Wore it for days. Now, I probably won't ever wear it again because it is so beat up (just like it was when I first got it). Now I have much nicer ones that I like better. But how long will it be until I have others to replace them? I've already sold about 5 or 6 of the ones I bought, too. So they are coming in and going out at a pace too quick to decide what I like "best" yet. I am still figuring out what works best on me and learning about the hats and the makers etc.

I know the ones I won't likely wear again... but the top ten? Sheese. I can't decide.

Thanks guys. These are most of the big ones in my collection, but it may be updated soon with one or two of my more recent acquisitions... ;)

Baron,
I bought it from Garrett, so I don't know what it looked like before. I didn't do anything to it except give it a thorough, thorough brushing. It was very dirty when I got it; an hour's worth of cleaning didn't hardly do anything for it. It'll be going to Art for a C&B before long.

Despite the 90 years of caked on dirt, it's still very nice. I just can't bring myself to touch it right now, at least not without gloves.

Cheers,

No, the liner is gone too. I did think it a bit odd that there was no liner; the inside of the crown is missing the pasted on maker's crest that I usually see in the ones missing a liner.

I'm not sure I have a full 10, and I only own a few of these now (so the pics are borrowed, hope you don't mind)

Navy Blue Wool "Flatcap" (this picture is old... (2006) I like to think my beard makes the hat look better on me now) :p

Newsboy Cap similar to the one featured below (Sean Connery, thanks for modeling it!)

I had one of these when I was 5 (it was too big, but I loved it!) and I left it at my cousins. When his mom cleaned his closet out she sold my hat at yard-sale... I'm still mourning its loss.

A light blue variant of this Dobbs hat (sadly in very bad condition, I found it crushed under some boots in the attic of a house we moved into)
