Pinaud Clubman, thank you for the memory. From the first time I got my hair cut up until about 2 years ago I had the same barber and all he would use was Pinaud.

I've just gotten myself some new shaving items, including a brush and brush stand, plus some shaving cream. They go great with my dad's Gillette Safety razor I found it the garage! :D

I'm a recent convert to safety razor shaving. For a while I used a Braun electric, but I managed to cut myself with it. (Long story.) Then I shifted to a Norelco rotary for a long time. But in January I blundered across a thread here, and checked out some sites. Now:

Merkur 23C (long-handled) razor
Personna red blade
Pacific shave cream, though I'm trying out the Erasmic stuff in a tube
Captain's Choice bay rum aftershave

Yes, it takes longer to do in the morning; but that's sort of the point, a ritual to prepare yourself to face the world. And my big black cat, Wolf, likes to sit on the bathroom sink counter and keep me company.

...Do you shave the cat, too?

I'll be honest. Those electric vibrating rotating swiveling "razors" scare the hell out of me. I would never let one anywhere near my face. I'll stick to my Rodgers straight razor, thank you very much.
