Traveling is proof of the wisdom that good prep is the most important part of the shave. Wound up using some C&E Nomad Shave Cream, an Omega Boar Brush and C O Bigelow AS, but was using a disposable Mach 3. Still got an excellent shave, just proves how important the basics are.

Mühle badger brush
Merkur 23C
NoName-blade (but pretty good)
D.R. Harris soap in wooden bowl
Weleda After Shave Balm
hot water rinse before shaving

... I've had the D.R. Harris soap for over a year and I never managed to get a satisfactory soapy cream with it. No matter what I try, I only get unstable foam that vanishes after a couple of seconds. Probably the worst and most expensive shaving soap I ever owned. Glad it was a present and I did't waste money on it. Back to Proraso or Haslinger again for the next shave.

I too have had less than stellar results using DR Harris. The Rose cream smells amazing but the foam was less than inspired. Trumper makes a wonderful shaving cream.

This morning with one of my most beautiful DE razor:

10679819ie.jpg

loaded with a Feather DE from Japan
Tabac Original shavingsoap and after-shave.

For me, the Feather is too sharp - I don't need this sharpeness. I got some cuts.

Tomorrow a straight razor - mostly I use a straight razor.
