RMC Buco J-24 (New fit) sizing help

Hello guys! I’m planning to purchase my first double riders jacket and specifically looking at J-24 in a new fit. The problem is that I’m not sure about the size I should go with.

I don’t have any specialized stores in my country and if I order jacket from abroad I’ll have to pay almost half the price In taxes so I would like to avoid size exchange and get it right the first time.

I am 5’11, around 175 lbs and have a chest circumference of ~ 40 inches. “T-shirt” fit will not work out because it narrows significantly the range of situations where I can wear this jacket. I want to have an opportunity to wear sweatshirts or mid sweaters underneath with comfort. However, this doesn’t mean that I want to look like I’m wearing an oversized Italian jacket from 80s-90s. Just a nice slim fit, but not too tight.

I’m in between of size 40 and 42. My main concern is that, from what I saw in the photos online, the sleeves in 42 may be way too long for my height. I’ve heard that after creasing sleeves may become shorter but I doubt they will become that shorter. And having the sleeves ending on the palm of my hand is the last thing I want to have.

I’ll be grateful for any help with determining the right size.

P.S. If someone has a double riders Buco (not necessarily a J-24) in a nice condition, that he believes will work for me, I’ll be happy to consider your offerings.

Where are you based? There may well be better and more accessible options.
I’m based in Ukraine. There’s zero opportunity to get this jacket within the country. When I need some nice clothing the only options are eBay and foreign stores.

You’re a tweener. Me too. The 40 will be a good trim fit for you. The 42 body and sleeves will be too long
You’re right and it’s often a pain in the neck. Especially considering the fact that I do all my shopping abroad which usually means no returns or additional expenses for return shipping.

Usually I tend to underestimate my body and order smaller sizes that I actually need to. But in case with Buco sleeves are my main concern.

I’ve looked through archive photos of bikers from 30s-50s and they often had tight bodies in their jackets but I’ve never seen one with long sleeves. So, maybe yes, 40 is the size to go with.
