I wonder if there is an Irvin jacket(s) / trousers book on the market?
All sorts of literature available about uniforms, flight jackets ( mostly US and German WW2), but how about Irvin jackets?
Appreciate your info or directions.
Thanks a lot to all.

Nothing definitive of which I'm aware. A lot of us have suggested Andrew (ASWatland) should write one, but so far he's resisting. ;)

I'm in for a copy and I'd gladly contribute to a Kickstarter or the like.

I'd be very surprised if there isn't a publisher would take this on. There just aren't the plethora of book on the Irvin (are there any, really? All I can think of is the book on the flight gear generally of the RAF and Luftwaffe) that you see on the A2 and such. I'm sure there must be a publisher sees the market for that.

I don't think that it's a question of funding, so much as time to undertake the research.
Andrew's a trained historian, so won't put it out before he's entirely happy with the results of the work.

Of course. But we want to tip him eventually for his work!

Over here in Japan, the Japanese jacket manufacturers put out 'Mooks' (do you have that word in English? 'Magazine Book').

They feature their products (natch) along with loads of period photos and photos of originals that explain how the different versions/contracts varied, with loads of historical information.

Maybe Andrew should hook up with Aero or something to cover the funding issue? After all, Aero has fairly recently revised their Irvin patterns.

Agree! maybe someone like Jon from Aces High? his Irvin' s are superbe!, he is young, dynamic and easy to deal with.
To me he is the GW for Irvin's. They even share the first name ( almost) John & Jon...
Guess that all prime makers also ELC might be good canditates for this book.
ELC, did somemething similar for the A-2 's.
Andrew! how about it?

Thanks for the advice guys. The issue is not funding as I have had several offers to publish an Irvin book, but the time to complete the archival research.
