Question: Brim size for a wide/chubby face?

For someone with a naturally rounded jawline that's gotten a bit wider and chubby, would a bigger or smaller brim be better?

Depending on overall physique. I've seen short and wide brims work for all kinds of faces from small and long to round and wide.

As someone with a wider face, I've found that higher crowns (at least 4.5") and wider brims (2.25" minimum) work best. The crown is actually more important than the brim. But if I wear one of the current low crown stingy brim hats that are popular with hipsters, I look like Oliver Hardy, if you remember who he is.

Big man; big hat. I'm a big guy too, and I look best in tall crowns and a 2 3/4" brim.

Unless one is confident to throw out all the rules there is good reason to select a fedora to compliment your face.

OP, if you're in Brooklyn, you have at least a coupla hat shops in NYC where you could try on some hats and see for yourself what works best for you.
