This was just from a shop in the Pentagon, but very nicely done. My current tailor was impressed, anyway. These both belonged to my father-in-law. He was the arms dealer in the family. I do other work for the government.

Very cool, thanks for the info.

Thanks, MK!
-I don't think I have ever packed so much for a trip before. Usually, I just live out of a carry-on! This time, I will have a big suitcase with multiple outfits. This will be great though. See you there.

Is that a chalk stripe or a pin stripe suit? I can't tell from the picture but it looks cool either way. :cool2:

Regards to all,

J
Hey, thanks James. It is a pin-stripe (Chalk-stripe has a less definite line, right?). I am going to post some additional pics per Matt's advice.

My Highland 'military' look Tuxedo...

I wore this (often referred to as a "Bonnie Prince Charlie") to a friend's wedding last November. I love the short waist cut to the jacket (very officer's mess dress look). I will be going to an Old Boy's 'do' in Edinburgh next w/end and will be wearing essentially the same kit as pictured, except for the waist-coat and short Prince Charlie jacket. I'll be wearing a 50's narrow lapel DJ instead.

Frankly, it's hard to beat a good old fashioned dinner party where the men go in black tie and the women dress up to the nines!

(apologies in advance, I'm still slightly self conscious over the lop-sided face in the first pic, but I was only a week or two off the operating table when this was taken and many of my facial nerves have been crushed)

And below in the 1950's jacket (it's not likely to be earlier with those labels..is it?)

Get those Queen Mary Tuxedos out..!!

Judging by some of the early photos already posted from the QM Meet, I can see a multitude of absolutely cracking Tuxedos! So come on boys, get them posted up here so that we can all see how a properly attired gentleman should dress when the canapes are being passed around the Captain's table.

Smoking is cool (just kidding)

I asked for a cigarette from Sliskovich (one of the WWII guys) and he handed me a non filtered monster that had me gagging and everyone else laughing. That is one of the few pics where I have a straight face.

I'm not against smoking, It's just not my cup of tea. That is probably the 5th cigarette I have ever smoked... ack ack cough...

Tux, trews and kilts!

Just a team shot taken at one of Edinburgh's most ancient golf clubs where my former school had it's Scottish reunion. Thought you might like the shot with the trews and kilt!
