Quite honestly, it's tough to say whether the person bought it with the intention of flipping it for more. Perhaps it didn't fit (or their wife hated it) and they relisted it for what they thought they could get out of it. I've sold some jackets and have seen them relisted on eBay for about twice the amount I sold it for. And these were active TFL users.Tfl classifieds

No offense, but I've also seen people gaining info on certain jackets, purchasing them (whether from the U.S. or in Japan), and relisting here on eBay for a significantly higher price. I suppose that's their right to do so, but let's not pretend that people are just happy to pass on their items at discount rates.
Oddly enough, I've played tons of poker (online and in-person) where people would have a big speech about how they don't care about the money in play, until it's their turn to pay up. Sort of a lesson that's stuck with me.
