University Club late 1930s-1940

Found only one reference on the lounge to another hat with this mark - once owned by Dinerman. No success in research other than the store in Milwaukee closed in 1977 with the retirement of the owners. Simple hat with educated style, unusual light mint green/gray color and narrow ribbon. Shows no sign of having been sold or worn. Open crown 5 1/4", brim 2 3/8". 3/4" ribbon, 2" unreeded sweatband. Color is accurate in the last photo.

It must be NOS... here is how it looks with brim snapped - the way to wear it I think.

Going to be fun to put clothes with it. Scrubs would be perfect.

In cases like this, supercalifragilisticexpialidocious seems such a small humble word - but in lack of something more elaborate ... :)

Besides all the hat's obviously pleasing features, I really like the full-width knot. All too rarely seen on a (thinner) mid-ribbon. Well proportioned bow - and a nice variation from all the pleated knots.

GORGEOUS!!!! I had no idea that the hat was a mint green. It looked like an off white from the auction photos. That's one of the most beautiful hats I have seen. I'm glad you got that one, my bidding finger wasn't fast enough. :D

Thanks! I thought we would have more company, Josh. You are welcome to borrow it for that special occasion where only mint will do, though I think it will be big on you. It's a full 7 1/8.

Agreed, I thought for sure this hat would go pretty sky high. I can't say that I've ever worn Mint....except when I get mint ice cream on my shirt. LOL. Thanks for the borrow offer though ;) A full 7 1/8 might be alittle loose. Every once in a while I can wear a 7 1/8 because i'm a 7 LO, but on occasion those 7 1/8's run like 7 1/4's.

1920's Dunlap Chocolate Brown Boater

I just received this one. I have never owned a brown boater before and this one is just fantastic. The sweatband is fabric and what is most interesting is that it is sewn completely to the liner so the liner and sweatband are one piece.
