Modern Stetson Royal De Luxe Whippet. The color is cognac and the ribbon and binding are a nice green (not for everyone, but i think it works).

Hey Brent, ummmm WOW. That's a really good-looking hat, and it's somehow better because (in my opinion) the colors don't match the style at all. Brown and dark green would be a great, but obvious campaign hat, or hiking hat, but not a fedora. Hummmmmmm. you never know what's next.

Hardly the time of year for velour, but what can you do?
Berry Welstaupe velour in black. Size 57 woth the raw edge brim at 7cm and the crown at 10 at the center dent. Unlined, but it probably did have one in the past. The brand name is French but I suspect the hatbody is likely Austrian in origin, because "Welstaupe" is not a French word, but German and translated as "Catfish". No other label than the size label inside, which does look French. Very high quality velour, which I think is thirties.

Another box had four hats in it. They were packed quite well inside a heavy old Dobbs hat box with lots of padding and a couple of small boxes cut and arranged to stop (or at least slow down) any crushing. Kudos to that auction house.

We'll start with this Lion Hats (a Langenberg brand). It does have some stains or mottling that I hope will clean up.

Love that right Bonn and “bow.” Very cool.

And, what was probably original to the Dobbs box, this lord's hat (my first!) with a Cavanagh Edge. Not willing to check behind the sweat for a tag until I condition it. According to the Hatted Professor this hat is likely from the mid-1930s based on the liner rondel and the "Improved Cavanagh Edge" debossment. Once I can get a look at the factory sticker I'll share it.
