Joe, that is a great looking hat. I think the crease works well and the color is outstanding. The box is just plain cool.

Steven
Thanks so much Steven. It may not be my preferred style of crease. But you are right it really works on this one. Always good to have some different styles to mix it up. Really love the color combo.

I'm gonna break the run of Max...
rare find: Rockel Velour Superior
nice velour felt, although (as Steve already said) not as high class as JHS-Velours
charcoal with violet tint - interesting lining in a great blue - no manufacturer's label found
I would have thought late 30s; Steve says: probably 1940s - he surely knows better...

I have only secured this rare find: with 55 cm - US 6 7/8 - UK 6 3/4 too small for me,
so I'm happy to pass it on to anyone who is interested...

Metro felt arrived yesterday. No further clues as it is missing liner and lacked any labels or tags other than the sweat. My initial thought is late 30s based on proportions, sweat, and the felt quality which is similar to a previous war nickel (edit: Huckel, woops typo) I have. Of course, could be anywhere up to mid 50s. Regardless, lovely hat to add to the collection.

Oviatt's Silver Beaver Rancho, made by MacLachlan. I suppose it would have been the MacLachlan Silver Beaver Fifty, if ot hadn't been sold through Oviatt's. They increased the price to 60 dollars.
The felt is nice, but it isn't as nice as the one on my Mac One Hundred, or my Dobbs Forty Westward, which is both denser, smoother, and creamier.
I love the shape on this one, though!

This week just keeps on getting better...not! Went in for oral surgery to remove a couple of broken molars. They knocked me clear out, I'm such a big baby. I have been wearing my 1950s Stetson Royal Deluxe for all of my surgeries during 2019 (Back, broken hand, etc.). Had to trot it out this morning for good luck. Waiting for the drugs to take hold now...
