Beautiful colour and shape. Wonderful hat.Exquisite 50's (maybe 40's) Borsalino Faunosca in Condor, courtesy Daniele. Just no felt in the world like an old Borsalino.

Beautiful colour and shape. Wonderful hat.
Thank you Stefan. In general I agree with you on the crease. But it’s sometimes nice for a change. And this one seems to have been meticulously kept this way and suits it fine. That is a fantastic find, Joe. I hope I didn't miss that one on Ebay. Great shape and colour. Not my kind of crease to be honest, but that's up to the wearer. The hat box is cool as well.
How cool. She does such beautiful work.Well as a ty to my wife I grabbed her a new gardening hat, an Akubra Planter (Hemp straw model).
Before putting it on her head she had cut the original ribbon off....ack! I said what if it doesn't fit ? lol, it's the smallest size they make and I had to pad it a wee bit hehehe (used bamboo tissue). But she went to work on her own taste on a new ribbon for her new hat and then asked me to steam and change the shape slightly to something like a lot of the hats I wear. She's never been a girly girl if you know what I mean, a bit Tom-boy wildcat. Anyways, here's a couple of snaps of the finished job.
edit: should have taken a before photo I know, I always forget
It's certainly a quality hat. Failsworth did well there. Glad to see it getting worn as it deserves.Stetson Sovereign made under license in England by Failsworth of Manchester, so a double seal of approval. The feel of the felt and quality details make one understand why Stetson gave Failsworth a license to produce their hats.
The icing on the cake is the box. The only hats in original boxes I find in Denmark are top hats.

It reminds me of a VS you had made, years ago. Both absolutely gorgeous.
That's outstanding Max!View attachment 278290 Optimo... Zephyr? That is what the seller called it. In Optimo's site they have Light Weight felts, and that's what I think this is.
It has wonderful felt, on par with my vintage Willoughby Tuxedo and my John the hatter
Thin, soft, and with an excellent, smooth hand. Obedient, without being floppy.
Very, very nice. I think this is my favorite Optimo felt, and it is actually cheaper than the others View attachment 278288 View attachment 278289 View attachment 278291 View attachment 278292 View attachment 278293 View attachment 278294

Lovely hat, and I always looked reading of others assisting with hat acquisitions (Stefan is world-class).
If you find a mint in the box topper in 62cm...I’m sure we could make an equitable trade!

Oberbayerische Hutfabrik gmbH. Miesbach "Edelweiss-Hut" "Chamois", 58 cm, 1955. The Chamois Felt is really fantastic (color, finish, hand) and easily dry creases. This is the first of a seven hat find.
