Exquisite 50's (maybe 40's) Borsalino Faunosca in Condor, courtesy Daniele. Just no felt in the world like an old Borsalino.

That is a fantastic find, Joe. I hope I didn't miss that one on Ebay. Great shape and colour. Not my kind of crease to be honest, but that's up to the wearer. The hat box is cool as well.
Thank you Stefan. In general I agree with you on the crease. But it’s sometimes nice for a change. And this one seems to have been meticulously kept this way and suits it fine.

Well as a ty to my wife I grabbed her a new gardening hat, an Akubra Planter (Hemp straw model).

Before putting it on her head she had cut the original ribbon off....ack! I said what if it doesn't fit ? lol, it's the smallest size they make and I had to pad it a wee bit hehehe (used bamboo tissue). But she went to work on her own taste on a new ribbon for her new hat and then asked me to steam and change the shape slightly to something like a lot of the hats I wear. She's never been a girly girl if you know what I mean, a bit Tom-boy wildcat. Anyways, here's a couple of snaps of the finished job.

edit: should have taken a before photo I know, I always forget

Accidently stopped by the Resistol Stetson outlet in Garland on the "way" to Ikea. Oops honey..! It was actually pretty busy. Found a mystery felt hat in dark green (Sage) with a 1 inch black ribbon, 2 3/8" brim and 4" crown at the pinch, with raw edge. As far as I could find the hat seems most similar to a chatham model. Very lightweight soft and nice thin felt, unlined, and a black sweat. Pretty sure its fur felt as any wool hat this thin would be shapeless. It does have a bad spot on underside of brim but not a big deal. Marked 7 1/8 but fits me at 7 1/4 really well. In the past I have been told that hats like this could be prototypes or salesmen's samples or something. The hand is lush almost a suede, reminds me of a vintage kitten finish on an old resistol I picked up from Moon. The brim of this outlet hat is almost too thin and easy to shape. I can't ever find an affordable playboy or cross country that is in my size. This will have to do for awhile. I toyed with ordering a very similar hat in dark moss from one of our custom hatters but I would put a brownish ribbon on it. Especially if I could find one with a slight plum or wine red tint.

Also scored a turquoise hemp stratoliner with a really nice sweat marked with "Stetson Medalist" and "Woven Hemp". Kind of a nice blue gray.

Stetson Sovereign made under license in England by Failsworth of Manchester, so a double seal of approval. The feel of the felt and quality details make one understand why Stetson gave Failsworth a license to produce their hats.
The icing on the cake is the box. The only hats in original boxes I find in Denmark are top hats.
The photos are a mix of Stefan's original photos from 2017 and a couple of my own.

It's certainly a quality hat. Failsworth did well there. Glad to see it getting worn as it deserves.

View attachment 278290 Optimo... Zephyr? That is what the seller called it. In Optimo's site they have Light Weight felts, and that's what I think this is.
It has wonderful felt, on par with my vintage Willoughby Tuxedo and my John the hatter
Thin, soft, and with an excellent, smooth hand. Obedient, without being floppy.
Very, very nice. I think this is my favorite Optimo felt, and it is actually cheaper than the others View attachment 278288 View attachment 278289 View attachment 278291 View attachment 278292 View attachment 278293 View attachment 278294

Lovely hat, and I always looked reading of others assisting with hat acquisitions (Stefan is world-class).

If you find a mint in the box topper in 62cm...I’m sure we could make an equitable trade! :)

You're not so bad yourself in the hat enabling department, Brent.
I would love to find a size 62 Top Hat in its box for you. It's on my to do list :)
