Brown Knox Flying Cloud
4 3/4 crown as bashed
2 in black grosgrain ribbon
1 3/4 underwelt brim
This medium brown Knox Flying Cloud I thought would be a great companion piece to the grey Knox Flying Cloud I picked up about a year ago.... which I really love.. The grey one is one with a “Custom Edge” (Cavanagh) and great feel to the felt. This one I think may be a slightly later issue as it has an underwelt brim and glued in liner typical of maybe a very late 60s early 70s release. It does however have the VERY cool flying cloud liner as does the grey one.. though less of a golden look to it. They both have 1 3/4 brims and this one has a slightly taller crown at 4 3/4... though I think it is just how they are bashed... open is probably about the same. This hat along with a Charcoal grey Charles Knox hatter I received... both originally sold at Jacob Reed’s Sons in Philadelphia from a retail price of $30 marked down to $15. A very cool little hat
