Fabio, the Ramenzoni hombur is a fine hat despite the name
I have a part of the family in San Paolo. They are the descendents of a sister of my maternal grandfather.
They came, in the middle of the seventies, to see the birthplace of their mother

I’m in a bit of a hurry to get to work, but this hat couldn’t wait. It wasn’t so much dusty as it had a layer of topsoil. It cleaned up well, but in bright sun I can still see dust coming off when I brush it.

5 1/2” open crown, 2 7/8 wide brim, 1 3/4” wide black ribbon, 2” wide sweatband. And of course it has the Cavanagh (Mode) edge that I love. The sweat is soft and supple and the entire hat is in great shape. The onion skin liner protector is intact and isn’t excessively cloudy. Here you go:

I believe we used to refer to a hat like that as a Beast.

I like “Beast.” It fits. I don’t recall where that tape measure came from, but it’s hard to believe the manufacturer could screw up the calibration that much!

10ths of an inch and 100ths of a foot ... hmmm. Also they threw a time zone in there. Toss that one out and enjoy that fantastic hat!

Good eye Bob... so clearly somebody’s attempt to make our silly system work as well as the metric system... but missing the point as to why we still use ours.
