Some interesting construction details of the Habig Ventilo alias Willoughby.
There is a description of the ventilation system inside the hat

and you can see how the channels were made to let the air pass. Outside on the sweatband

Bravo. That is a very special and unique summer felt.
I love all those venting details.
Have you noticed the difference wearing the hat?

Georg thanks, unfortunately the Habig is too large for my head. It is a true 60 cm. and I'm halfway between this size and 59. It's a pity!

Great looking hat Daniele. I also have a Habig with Ventilation in Alpine style.
Congrats to the new one!
Thanks Manfred

Excellent catch. I'm not so much into the Cattleman crease either (please disregard my next post!!!), but something about those 3X models of the 50's just seems to fit.

Just got this Stetson 3X dated 1953, going by the store tag under the sweat. It is a nice hat and all but new. I did nothing to this hat except a good brushing. I think the color is silverbelly, although the one pic looks lighter, and the other looks darker. The liner does have the plastic cover.

Nice! The felted brim edge is a classy touch. This is one of my favorite styles of western.

Since i have a pause in my model "job" I can dedicate myself to others situations ;)
Well, I add my contribution to the thread dedicated to Willoughby

With a shape
Certainly this brand was a merchant who bought what he needed on the market, season after season, and branded it with his name.

I think that, despite the English or Anglo-Saxon name, the property was in partnership with the French.

In this case it is a disguised Habig, made in Austria as shown by the label written in French.

The hat is of soft felt and with all the tricks to be able to use it in the summer.

The dimensions are those of a hat produced in the sixties, but Steve will say much more and better than me.
2zpksn8.jpg

The dimensions are those of a crown 14 centimeters high and the brim of five. The hat weighs very little and seems to have been little used or even a stock fund. There are very slight traces of moth here and there, otherwise the bow still has the seam to keep it in perfect order

and the inside is perfect

Daniele,
This one just fascinates me..It is really of too small of proportions to interest me...still....I keep thinking about it....all the more as you said it was too big for you........as it is too big for you....it should fit me:rolleyes:....too bad shipping is so high from there........perhaps a multi hat deal is in order........:rolleyes:;).....it HAS been a while.:D

Daniele, Great find! This is definitely unique. I haven't come across such a combination. I have to look at this one closer. May I ask where you found it? What does it say under Farbe? Is there any other numbers under the visible sequence?

I think this is an unusual one.

I'm a fan of the cattleman and have a number of them styled as such. With steam and little effort, that thing will probably take any shape you want to give it along with it telling you what shape it would like.
I agree with Bama!
I also think a cattleman type crease is every bit as versatile as many fedora creases. You can move them around, up and down, widen the center depression front to rear and on and on. Each iteration takes on a whole new look, a whole new hat.
That’s just me though.

3 cord ribbon and i can’t tell if the brim is felted or bound?? This same hat is my first LD and has a 3 cord which is kinda unusual, IMHO, and if the brim is felted=homerun!
More pics if possible??
Bowen
The brim is bound. One of the pictures does give the illusion of felted. Give me a couple minutes and Ill get a couple more pics. Any thing in particular you'd like to see on it?
