Last one and by no means the least of them. Rothschild Super Quality in grey heather. Sold by Browning Merc. Co, Browning, Montana.
Lovely soft felt and great colours. Raw edge brim at 5,3cm and crown 11cm at the center dent. Appears to be NOS, although the liner has some foxing. The finishing is outstanding on this hat. No labels inside of it. I think thirties.

Oh that Flecked felt! So glad someone who appreciates the qualities has this hat.

Th. Jo. Ernst Köln "Panzara Superior" "Eden", possibly late 1950s. Based on the paper label this hat was possible made by Mayser Milz & Cie. for Th. Jo. Ernst Köln. Th. Jo. Ernst Köln was a well men's store located in Köln. I assume the Italianized "Panzara, Marca Registrata" trademark was registered by Th. Jo. Ernst Köln.

Drove over to The Boot Store in Lexington today and thoughts of summer prompted a straw hat purchase on this rainy winter day.

An American Hat Company straw hat. It came open crown, so I still need to tweak it a little, but it's nice to find long oval options still!

Let's do another. My first Portis hat. A long shot admittedly, because this is one in a puny size 6 3/4. I might ask Penumbra hats to upsize it to fit me.
:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::confused::confused::confused:
Hear no evil.....see no evil........hear no evil......see no evil.....;)
Glad you changed your mind. Up-sizing two sizes would definitely change this awesome hat too much....
But of course can anyone any more even wear a 6 3/4???????? Museum piece to be sure.
Take care....
M;)
PS Did you get the Marathon yet???

My new to me 1950's Stetson Nutria from JLee. Thank you Jared. Great hat, softer felt than my other Nutria so this will become a favorite. Going through alot of packing tape to keep the cat hair off of this black hat. But it's worth it.

Is this hat I bought any good? I know nothing about Westerns (not that I know an awful lot about fedoras).
Bowen and others are often awwing about Nutrias. I Stetson on the sweat, the listing says "Nutria", it costs 200, it's my size, I buy it, but I don't really know...
The listing said "Vintage Early Syetson Nutria". Help me out, please?

Well if you don't like it I would love to have it, even though 200 is above my budget. ;) But I would say yep that is a great hat Max. Looks new. The sweatband looks perfect. The ribbon is in great condition and for me the 3.5 inch brim is perfect. Looks to me just like the one I posted above made i believe in the 50's. From what I have read, that particular inventory tag was used by Stetson from the late 30's to the late 50's. So you have a great vintage hat. I have two Nutrias now. Both crowns are easily shaped without steam, but one hat has a very stiff brim while the other, the black hat above has a less stiff brim. Much nicer, so they can differ but the Nutria felt is terrific in my opinion although I am certainly no expert. I love your hat.

Great looking hat Max and a fair price! If you are swinging towards westerns I might be able to hook you up with that Optimo I bought as my wife never wears it.

Thank you, Mark. My Mom wanted my middle name to be Mark, but since my father's last name is Tejeda, she settled for Marco. So, in a way, we're namesakes. [emoji2]

Is there another word for namesake in English? In Spanish it's "tocayo".
