I think you're well on your way with that crease. I wouldn't worry about the felt; looks like you have some leeway before it would become a problem. Keep at it with steam and elbow grease and you'll get there. I like that new crease.
Thank you, I needed that encouragement. I think ill let the hat keep the rectangular center. I've taken to calling the hat "The G.O.A.T."....lol.

I'm still going to build the leather ammo-band hatband for it though.

I like the 3X hats of this era. They represent an accessible vintage hat that isn’t too hard to find in larger sizes. I personally prefer Resistol over the Stetson when it comes to most of these iterations. The 3X of this vintage have very little beaver fur in the felt, but some of them are great hats. I’m wearing an X Double X today and the thin dense felt is much preferable to the 6X hats of today.

I don’t fight the felt and let it “tell” me what it wants. I like that my hats all have different personalities with their own creases...I’m even warming to the cattleman. You rock the telescope, but maybe take the opportunity to expand your hat repertoire?

This one was posted by @M Hatman earlier and I'm very pleased it's now part of my collection. The quality of this one is substantially better than my other Marathon and this one I wouldn't qualify as a workhorse kind of hat.
Bound brim at 6,7cm and crown 10,5cm at the center dent. I'll wear it without the feather (don't know if that was original to the hat). I'm thinking fifties. My thanks again to Mark for trading this with me.

Yes...a special hat. Glad you are pleased.......it is great to see it getting head time rather than just sitting in my collection.....enjoy with good health!
AND I love the hat I got from you!
Best,
M

I received five new members of my One Hundred club yesterday.
First, my Resistol Beaver One Hundred.

Very nice hat Max, of course! You look good with the cattleman's crease in it. A nice change up.
Going out on a limb here in wondering if this Resistol One Hundred isn’t as nice, if not nicer than the Stetson One Hundreds of similar age in terms of felt, it’s finish and detailing? What vintage do you think this one is?
Thoughts??

Well, the detailing is nice, but I would have to have the Stetsons at hand to compare, and they're back home in Mexico City.

The felt isn't as nice as the Stetsons, though, of that I'm pretty sure. Or maybe it's just that I like softer felts.

I plan to make a ranking of all the felts of the 100s I have next week, when I am back home.

My new cap from Jonatán Cordova. Alan told me I would grow to like caps, but I didn't believe it. This thing is great.

Jonatán told me he taught himself to make caps, and that his wife had to show him how to use a sewing machine. Talent is an awesome attribute, isn't it?

It is made if vintage silk, because I very much dislike the feeling of wool.
