This hat was just delivered. @BobHufford and I both thought this would be in the Beaver brand family, and we were right. I was happy to see the label from the manufacturer to the store where it was sold. The Thoroughbred box indicates the color as Maple Grizzly. The liner and sweat have the store name, and best of all a bucking horse liner!
Just have to get the chicken off of it, get a proper band and crease.

Often summer is "the paradise" of felt hats, at least here in Italy. Often in this hot and sultry season throughout the peninsula there are interesting "deposits" of intriguing hats.
Today I got two hats, made about fifty years ago, never worn
Gold Star in black thick felt size 59

They bear the name "Gold Star" but they are evidently two Italian hats sold in a Palermo store

This is an Italian product that has been made in Monza about fifty years ago, maybe in Panizza factory in the seventies.

I proposed for the first hypothesis, but during the afternoon I made a comparision with Cervo and the felt is quite the same of the old production of the factory in Sagliano Micca - Biella. I have to work on it

The hat is of thick black felt and a certain roughness, so I think there is a small part of wool. The interior is impeccably finished with a blue lining.

Stamped on the sweatband the words "Lepre garantita superfine" for this and for the bow I think it was produced in Monza, these are two characteristics of that production, but I'm uncertain

The proportions are: brim at 6 cm, crown at 11 cm. and the ribbon is 3 cm.
The hat will be in the Americas in the next future

I'm trying to catch up on all the posts I've missed due to having been on holiday the last month or so. Wow, you guys are good at finding hats. I've been to Paris, Berlin, and various parts of the UK, but found nothing. Until today that is back home in Denmark.
A J. Moores and sons black bowler in superb condition. According to the hat liner, it was made for a very well known and still running department store in Copenhagen.
Not sure of the date, but must be pre 1966 when the company joined forces with 4 other hatters in Manchester to create a new larger company.
Could the numbers 141035 indicate the hat is from 1935? I'd say not due to the colourful logo on the liner.
I'd also like to know what the term "vacuum fitted" means and when it was used.
Anyway, here come the photos [emoji4]

Thanks, Stefan. That's what I thought, too. My only doubt is that the logo on the liner is so colourful. You mostly see just grey on white logos on liners from the 30s.
Whatever the date, I'm so happy I bagged it. It's a quality hat. The weight and strength of it helps one understand why bowlers where the first hard hats for the working classes.

Got something a little unusual in today. 3X Stetson with American Royal on the sweat. I could find nothing that indicated Stetson ever made a model of this name for the general public. It probably is a promotional hat special ordered by the Kansas City men's store shown on the sweat to capitalize on the American Royal livestock show held annually in K C or the store ordered hats worn by VIP's or officials of the event. I've run across a couple of these hats and most are adorned with pins and all came from the same store which closed in 1968. This one had two and evidence of several others having been on the hat before. Both of the pins are enamel inlaid Sterling. I'm hoping I'm able to mitigate the pinholes a bit.

Fair condition with a 2" sweat and an embroidered last drop liner, though it is glued in. A six ply ribbon and a three ply under brim treatment. I've seen similar hats in some of the Miller-Stockman catalogs, the Arminty and the Arminto but other than that, nothing. Anyone with info let me know. Any collectors of AR memorabilia can hit me up about the pins.

Very nice, Greg. From the rest of the hat, I think you're about right on age. That's a later version of the 3X logo, and the glued in sweat put it later. Does it have a re-order tag of any kind?

Hopefully, some serious steam and some brushing will help to heal those pinholes. If that doesn't work, just put more holes in a pattern and tell folks it's custom vented.

I think Stetson just shoots from the hip. When you go to the Outlet store you will find a bunch of 1 offs that they never advertise. I guess they are experimental hats. It is a nice hat !!

Good score. Those Featherweights are supposed to be some nice hats. Now you have to keep an eye out for the matching box. "Weighs Less Than 2 Packs of Cigarettes!"

Thanks, Jim I meant to put that in the narrative. It has nothing behind the sweat or liner which lends to the special order thoughts I had. There are two of these hats listed on the bay now. Both are identical to this hat save for size and the number of pins adorning them. Jim, we'll see about the pin holes. I've had pretty good luck in the past mitigating them but the big ones on this hat are from the existing Sterling pins and the pin posts have tarnished, staining the holes.

Meant to add in the original post, 3.5" brim and a very soft 6' open crown.
