Nice doggie, Robert. I wonder whether the Knox Foxhound model typically had ribbons with some sort of texture like the one on yours or the one below?

Found myself buying outside my (usual Resistol) brand this week, my dad says "that's alright just don't mate outside your species."
Stetson Open Road 3X Silverbelly (1950's?) Here it is atop my San Antonios:

Well, honestly, I had some hat money set aside for another one of Bob's Black Sheep hatworks lids, but I couldn't pass this one up:

Yay - I'm glad you got that one Jared!

That is a great deal on what looks to be a very nice S100. I bought (and sold) my one for way more than that.

The S100 is just a great package, with the super cool case - I hope you enjoy wearing it.

Jared,

That is a beautiful hat and a great buy! Even though it is not my size I was watching that auction just to see what it would go for. If it had been a larger size I bet it would have gone for $400 to $500.

PS: You got lucky too that it didn't have a name embossed in it. Most I've seen usually do.

Hello!

this is a new hat I recently purchased. It was made by Shawn Rettkowski and purchased through his etsy shop- http://www.etsy.com/shop/ShawnsHaberdashery. Here's the description he posted for the hat- "I finally feel comfortable in presenting to you my hats. up first is a 100% rabbit fur fedora with classic 40's styling! The color is a very warm Sahra sand. This lid features a 2 1/2" brim, 5 1/4" open crown, 4 3/4" crown with the bash. The ribbon is a chocolate brown and 1 1/2" wide, the bow has a contasting sahra ribbon stripe. The bash is very easy to do and holds very well to whatever shape you feel fits best. The brim is very nice and snappy, yet soft and pliable. please feel free to ask questions! As I am just starting out I am keeping prices low and just trying to get expreince as I go."

I have to say, I am VERY happy with this hat. The small collection of hats I currently own are almost all vintage, from the 40's- 50's and this one fits right in. I will definitely be keeping an eye on his future work. I wish my photos were better, to do this hat justice!
