That looks good! The brim sits just like it's suppose to. Now I'm anxious to see how mine turns out. I might get pictures tomorrow.
Yours will probably make me get a Montecristi, especially if that ribbon looks as good as I think it will!;) :D

Lee Trinity

This one arrived at...the customs today...!

Bought from Johnnyphi, this is my first Lee. It's a Blue Label Trinity. The main color is gray, and even though johnnyphi's site described the ribbon as somewhat greenish, it has a rather reddish/magenta hue to it, depending on the light.

Brim 2 1/2"
Crown 4 1/2" (creased)
Ribbon 1 5/8"
Binding 3/8"

The hat is in perfect condition, so I just gave it a good brushing and a new crease.

I'm assuming the hat is from the 1950's. Could that be right?

Great look, IC. I like the trend of the colored ribbons on your straws. They are cheery and eye-catching. Really nice crease job done on that one, as well. :eusa_clap

Mario, that hat has really nice lines to it, especially the profile shot (#3). Very nice.

Well, Sue...what can I say? If I'm on the roll with the bound brims, you're on the roll with those wonderful ribbons...

With all the hats I've bought I hadn't run into a Knox yet that I wanted. Finally spotted what looked like a winner on ebay. Just received it and I'm very happy with it (except for the sweat falling off :eusa_doh: ). More in the School of Hard Knox thread.

New Akubra Squatter, super fine, featherweight...

Got this from Cookie out of Classifieds. He had trimmed the bound edge off a couple of Akubra Squatters like somebody we know does down in Florida. I was really interested in the grey one. There is a brown one that I got but I'm still thinking on it = almost too Indy for me!
I took his brim modification to a dimensional cut of 2 5/8" front & back & 2 1/2" on the sides & went with a diamond crease....
