Thank you! I'm very happy with the purchase, I think the brim length fits my face and size well.Very nice looking hat. Gives the impression of a bit wider brim.

More in the Gannon thread.
Is there a better way to baptize a new hat?Saw some weather first day out?
Art Fawcett / VS Custom Hats off the Goodwill site. Way too big for me (~24.5” circumference) so will be sale or trade bait after the Holidays. 2-1/2” brim and 4-1/2” crown height as creased.

Nice find, Bob. At that size and with a modest brim, it looks like a Charlie hat to me.
I don't know spit about real Panama hats so please excuse me if this is a dumb suggestion. But couldn't you dunk or spray the hat to get it wet and re-shape it? I mean, if you're already willing to write it off, what do you have to lose? And, of course, the Panama that fits is in this condition...
I think this will be easily returned to good shape with a bit of steam. My search for a vintage Panama in my size continues. The Lee didn’t fare too well with the soaking that FedEx subjected it to by leaving it on the porch during a 3” rain (before my daughter rescued it a few hours later). It may bounce back. How hard would it be to slip it into a plastic bag?

Agree, might need some stiffener, maybe an iron but I think you can bring it back.
Some cool old finds Bob. I think 5hey may clean and reshape nicelyAnd, of course, the Panama that fits is in this condition.
Another Mallory. The hat box was for two hats.
