It's part of the hat's history, and gives it a bit of character. What's not to like?Thanks.. yeah doesn’t bother me none really. Almost looks like a coffee ring

Thanks to Matt for sending this one my way.
G.A. Dunn & Co English Velour. The subtle green matches the exquiste soft feel of the felt.
Raw edge brim at 4.5cm. Crown 11.5cm at the center dent.

Another thanks to Matt @Mean Eyed Matt for this one.
French pre-war Bowler, or Melon as the French called them. The shape of this one explains why. Wonderful workmanship and solid feel to everything with this hat. The box is the icing on the cake View attachment 343756 .

It's good to have friends in the hat world! Excellent bowler, Steve!
Steve, as I said before:
I'm glad that both hats fit you and that you are satisfied!
They adorn your head excellently and that makes me happy.
Enjoy them, my friend!
Quite nice Steve. Fantastic bowler… they always look extra special on you.
Thanks, Joe. Some more to come. To be honest I hope the kilo-sales won't happen too often; I have trouble enough limiting myself as it is.Quite a haul Stefan. If they could all sell by the kilo
Thanks again, Joe. It's some strange mix of yellow and blueVery nice… say what color is that beautiful liner
Spread the word, Brent. I think any hat collector would be convinced by this one.Absolutely beautiful. That’s a hat that could convert black hat haters.
Thank you, Steve. Yes, the liner would have been nice. Mayser did Stetson right with these.Stefan, Missed this one. Sorry about the liner. It was made by Mayser under license.
Thanks again, Steve. Now and again these press formed hats pop up. This one was interesting enough to pick up.Stefan, That's a good one! I have come across some PolkaP Hats. Tonak also has similar formed / pressed Felt.
Thanks, Marcel. Worth the trip for sure. I think I got all the good onesNice catches @steur
Excellent catch, Steve. Great to have the box with it.Another thanks to Matt @Mean Eyed Matt for this one.

It’s like shag carpet on your head…who can say no to that?
Wow, what a thing! Wonderful find, Joe. Great pug on it too.Lamson Hubbard Genuine Panama - The Colonel

Lamson Hubbard Genuine Panama - The Colonel
Tight fine weave
5 inch crown
Dimensional Brim 3 1/4 front - 3 inch sides
I had not heard of this brand Lamson Hubbard… but from the sellers photos it appeared to be a really fine weave. It has not disappointed in that regard. In person the weave is very tight and small appears almost like canvas. I find interesting that in photos the weaves do not look quite as tight as they do in person. I think I will compare the weave on this on and my Herbert Johnson Optimo. Between the liner tip and Not much sun today holding up to the sun would not provide much of an effect. The 3 1/4 by 3 inch brim seems to prefer an up brim…. But with some coaxing it will stay down sometimes. I really love the pug. Under the sweat and oilskin sweat liner revealed a made in Ecuador stamp.. some pencil notations and union tag. There is an area of discoloration on the back underside of the brim and I managed to dislodge the sweat bow and size tag while I was fiddling around. Will probably reattach. All and all…. Loving my new/old Colonel Panama.

Lovely hat and a nice find. They could do wonders with these heathers in the past.Again, a fantastic hat that is too small for me
and therefore reserved for Panos...
Hall & Co. London expressly made for Sools Paris:
Wonderful, thick but soft and in addition heathered fur felt;
size 57 (cm) or 5 (French) (somewhat shrunk);
height centre dent at 10.5 cm; unbound brim at 5.0 cm
The hat is in good condition but unfortunately has a couple
of small mothbites - hardly noticeable with the great felt.
The brim is a bit uneven - maybe trimmed later!?
But the look and dimensions make it a wonderful example
of a (late) 30s sporty fedora - in my opinion. You Gentlemen!?
Anyway, too bad it's not my size...
Thank you Stefan. Enjoying it.Wow, what a thing! Wonderful find, Joe. Great pug on it too.
Three more great additionsAnd the next
Mayser Milz fedora in grey. Size 57 with the overwelt brim at 5,5cm and the crown at 10,5cm at the center dent. Not a hat to make the headlines, but well made and fairly lightweight at 114 grams.

It wait… there’s more! This one and the Diplomat are very lovelyLet's see if we can end this haul with something a bit more to the standards here.
Wehrmeier fedora in a wonderful deep brown. Chamois finish and contrasting ribbon and brim binding. Size 56, with the brim at 6,5cm and the crown at 11cm at the center dent.
I'm fairly certain this one is actually made by Hückel Welheim, judging by the shape, finish and the hanging cord on the sweatband. The felt is awesome.
