Lagomarsino Brown homburg. Soft felt with minimal stiffeners. The finish is between suede and velour. The hat fits slightly smaller than indicated, but just by a bit and it will conform.

This is my second Lagomarsino homburg (my first was a black long hair finish) and I’d love to find more. These are great hats of decent quality with excellent sweatbands and solid construction.
Argentina is on my travel list....eventually......I have hopes that I can find some nutria vintage if they have such a thing as vintage or goodwill stores in Buenos Aires

Both of my homburgs say “Nutria” on the liner, but I’m not sure what the fur content is. I’m pretty sure my 1986 3X Beaver is about 1% beaver.

My wife has no desire to visit Central or South America. I looked into retiring there a while back and it took her several days to realize that I wasn’t kidding. After that, she let me know that no matter what I read to her or what testimony of expatriates living there I quoted or what financial benefits there might be she wasn’t interested. North America and Europe is as far as she’ll go, and then just for visits. When I told my best friend that I was thinking about retiring to the Southern US he was sad because he’d never see me again...it was like I said I was moving to the moon. I love travel, but apparently not everyone does.

A new traveller hat, same massmarket-model. This time Karstadt storebrand instead of Wegener, but no real difference.

Again 50 bucks.:D
The crown is a little bit higher than on the hazelnut Wegener.

Lagomarsino Brown homburg. Soft felt with minimal stiffeners. The finish is between suede and velour, and the hand is surprisingly nice. The hat fits slightly smaller than indicated, but just a bit of time with a band block installed and it will conform.

Just got back from Texas with 31 hats. I had to leave 58 of them! Enough is enough. I am only buying true grail hats from now on.

Very nice, Brent. Quite uncommon to find homburgs with special finishes.

Glad you brought that one along. How many tranquilizers did it take to leave 58 hats behind?

I'd bet 10 days

New last week. So still New to me

Looks great, Yahoody. Always love seeing the photobombing horses (or is it always the same horse?).

Well, you could look a bit more happy then:) If you didn't like that one, you'd be eligible for a flogging!

Please post the Borsalinos in the Borsalino brotherhood as well, Max (with label). Even the green ones!:D

It says Alessandria on the liner... I think it just means it was made there, correct?
Correct. The model name could be on the label though (depends on the age of the hat).

Thanks! Six of them so they take turns. One mugs me any time he thinks it might be something interesting. Two of them don't like the iphone and are a little camera shy. This one is camera shy. So I seldom get pictures of her. The other guy? Not so much

Hales and Hunter Co
(By Beaver Brand Hats... I believe)

Open Road Clone - Silverbelly
5 inch crown
2 3/4 brim with 3/16 bound edge
1/4 Inch 2-ply silver grosgrain ribbon

The sun finally peeked out long enough this evening to get some shots of this new arrival. This just about minty Hales and Hunter Co White Fur Open Road clone has actually been sitting here for a bit awaiting its debut but I believe this one came in off a tip from @BobHufford Pretty sure based on the box and the Mirakal Process Dupont Quillion water proofing tag this one was manufactured by Beaver Hats. We shall see where it fits among my OR/Strat clones.

And just as quickly as the sun peeked out.. the rain returned.

Great shape to this hat. Some might dither on it being an OR clone based on the two-cord ribbon, but it certainly has that look. The brim width looks perfect on you too. My favorite style of western.
