Stetson Forty: the hat is blocked very straight and the open crown is six inches. The brim is 2 5/8 inches and has a Cavanagh edge. No stains or mothing, but the liner does show some foxing. The sweatband doesn’t include a store or any other markings other than those shown in my photo. The tag under the sweatband makes me wonder if it was reblocked, and the 7 5/8 markings don’t match the “3/4” keyhole size tag. The hat fits me perfectly.

The felt is the best I’ve seen. It’s not as thin and light as some, but it’s dense and easily molded to any shape desired.

I don’t recall seeing another Stetson Forty, and I’d love to see others if they’re out there.

Stetson Sovereign in a moss green common to the era. Just under six inch open crown (more than 5 1/2 and less than six). The brim is 2 5/8 inches wide and has a Cavanagh edge. No mothing and the sweatband leather is perfect. The felt takes a dry crease without issue.

The hat was sold to me as a size 7 5/8. First thing I did was plant it on my head and was relieved that it fits perfectly. It was creases backwards, but that was easily remedied. A peak under the sweatband had some surprises.

The 7 7/8 was a shock. I thought a generous 7 5/8 or maybe 7 3/4 based on fit. This was from the same seller as the Forty I just posted and the seller was upfront about not knowing about hats. I’m tickled with them both.

Brent excellent new additions not only for the quality thereof but also style, dimensions and colors. As Randy said it might take a while to post our new arrivals after these ones ;)

Engel & Co after Ignacio enlarged it for me. He also shortened the crown a little. It was too tall for my taste.
The color, as you can see from the pics, varies.

Thanks to the Great Hat Enabler Stefan @steur, I am now an official member of the Dutch Connection !

Received this absolutely stunning Borsalino this weekend, but was waiting for some Sun to break out the Canon L Series Glass to take photos worthy of this hat.

Borsalino Ecosan Qualita Extra Extra Superiore in the color Averla. Beautiful color and wonderful felt. The fit is perfect, thanks to Stefan sending me the measurements first. I can't take it off my head, been wearing it around the house in the evenings, LOL.

Raw Edge Brim at 2.75"
Crown height at 4" at the pinch
Stefan thinks it dates between 1945-1955.

This thing is just absolutely my style, and I don't think I could design a custom with better proportions for me.

Stefan even threw in a couple of freebies that I will post later - very generous !!
Thanks again Stefan, it was an absolute pleasure dealing with you and I hope there will be many more.

Good to see it out and about, Tim. It is a gorgeous hat, but it wasn't doing anybody any good just sitting there. So I'm glad it has found a good home and can be worn and appreciated.

Wow. Not an everyday find even at small sizes, let alone the large size you're looking for. Congrats, Brent.
