The felt is thick with overwelted brim and it is a mix of furs and wool
i4mmog.jpg

Hat arrived until now used in excellent conditions
352ls80.jpg

Proportions: Brim at 5,5 cm. Crown al 11 cm and the ribbon is 3,5 cm.
It will be in the classified soon!

I know this felt pleased my friend Steven with whom we visited the Panizza factory in Ghiffa - Lago Maggiore
35hqy6x.jpg

Panizza Royal Sportsman in heather felt size 59 Made during the seventies at Panizza historical factory in Ghiffa on the Lago Maggiore. It was an high end hat, see the lining and the quality of the felt
161j6og.jpg

The color is called: "Cesena" and the felt is finish with short hair as you can see in the picture,
5fnckn.jpg

Felt is soft and with a touch of "bristly" and there are two seams on the over welted brim
2ijgu2b.jpg

The felt is called on FL "heather" because it change color when you see it from different angles and the felt is a mixture of fur and wool.
23k9ob9.jpg

Proportions are: Brim at 4,5 cm. Crown al 10,5 cm and the ribbon is 3 cm.
Panizza produced excellent felt, no more felt like this and I'm very sad about that.

This is the one I couldn't buy from Daniele because it is more of a 57. It hurt!

Very nice Daniele! That finish really picks up the light.

Wonderful Panizza Daniele. It almost looks like a calico cat we had once. That heather is one of the best I've seen.

Here I am in my new Stetson Inwood hemp straw. Summer is finally in full swing in the Pacific Northwest.

I saw that it was in the 90s in Seattle today. You guys don't get that kind of heat often. Nice weave on that Hemp.

"1930s Crofut and Knapp “Eiderdown” made for the George Eakle store in Philadelphia from the wonderful stock of David P. Lochner a @briarvintage"-Anthony @moontheloon

I wore this hat today. The felt is unbelievable. It moves and stays there if you blow on it. Light as air.

Cappellificio Cervo Bantam American Type. Size 58 Made probably in the seventies for the American market (see the stamps on the lining and the sweatband)
5d2rki.jpg

It has the proportion of an "alpine hat" traditional in the Alps and the felt is called "King Loden" a type of felt used for sturdy fabric for winter time.
2uhoac5.jpg

The color is called: "Gem" and the felt has shaggy pile finish with a mixture of rabbit and wool
33kehqg.jpg

The color changes according to the light and the ribbon is of the same material. The hat is finished with a very high standard
16kz6mg.jpg

Hat is new, part of a fantastic find in a closed shop in south Italy
2vv9dg6.jpg

Proportions: Brim at 5 cm. Crown al 10,5 cm and the ribbon is 3 cm.
Last consideration: felt like this is impossible to find today, taste for hats are changed and many others thing in the world of hatters
Soon in the classified!

This came to me courtesy of @NewJack:

Stemwinder Custom Hats 100X...lords hat?

The felt is western stiff, but the hand is incredibly soft and the condition is immaculate. When I first put it on my heart sank as it was way too small. I turned the sweat out looking for tags and found a felt reducer pad and weather stripping fore and aft. With the reducers removed the hat fit great! I thought the felt was Silverbelly but upon seeing it in person it looks more bone. Fine by me. It’s a great hat! Thanks Doc!

Wonderful Berg Brent. I do think that is bone felt, it looks dead on to my bone Lords hat from NW. Especially in the first image. Love the lines, looks good with the gray ribbon.
