Rick may be the only one around here with a greater affinity than me for thin ribbon OR styled hats. When I see them I try to put my hands in my pockets. I just don't need another silverbelly but that doesn't stop me from wanting them.

I didn't know it was a back bow! The huge ribbon makes for a rather tall looking back bow treatment. It so cool in many ways Stefan. It is an odd ball for sure, but really cool!

Cool! That wide ribbon is certainly unusual, and the low crown really emphasizes it.

John, thanks. Reminds me a bit of some of the German trachten hats. This one feels less costumy though.

That price is very believable. Miller-Stockman sold that hat for $18.00 in this time frame. They sold a ton of 3X western hats for $20.

The model hat referred to is the "Longhorn" and is introduced in the 53 catalog......I have one too.....found in it's original box. I posted it under the the Western anyone thread. GREAT HAT.....I Love mine!!

Very nice... parts are often confounding to date. You would expect $15 price at that point in time... especially since that size tag is often found with O.P.S. era hats. Go figure.
