I've been loving the images of this very interesting Homburg. I wonder if sometime in it's life the owner had a refurb done and this brim was developed from the hatter?Lembert "Extra", 58cm probably later 1950s early 1960s. The brim has massive flange which is interesting. The interior is very soiled so not so appealing but I like the form.
Natural Light
Mike, I think it was modified later because the paper label Form is Homburg and it's not like other Lembert Homburgs I have seen.I've been loving the images of this very interesting Homburg. I wonder if sometime in it's life the owner had a refurb done and this brim was developed from the hatter?
Sweet find! Love a back bow! It should look great with a nice diamond crease. Does it need a naphtha bath?

Reread the naptha bath thread and go for it.Biggest issue is filtering the dirty gas back into the can.I'm sure it could use a bath, but I've never done one before and I'm a bit unsure about making the attempt. The hat in your ad looks exactly like mine.
Wow, I missed this when we were in Ecuador. What a beauty!1900s Stetson Exposition Medal featherweight "parton"
This hat is in flawless shape. Has remnants of a newspaper under the sweat, the price sticker is even there.

Cool findsThe local Goodwill hasn't been producing much this Halloween season, but the local vintage store was putting out the autumn/winter collection today and they had this,

Finally a Silverbelly OR.

It was being fussy about the crease so now it's sitting on my head with a Cattleman, no photos.

Somewhat the worse for moth visitations, but the price was right and no shipping.
Also got this Sovereign as a possible cool weather biking companion

It should be aerodynamically favorable.
On the other end I got these Red Wing Iron Rangers, but that is a subject for a different forum I suppose.

Now I'm off to buy some boot laces. And possibly stop back at the store to look at a few things I didn't pull the trigger on.

Cool finds
Thanks guys. I take 'em like I find 'em.Wow! You never cease to amaze Michael!
And just for entertainment purposes, this 44 cent suit I picked up today, with hat of course.
I like it both ways, but prefer the "after" shape which surely provides better protection from the elements.Ran onto this at my favorite thrift today...'70s or '80s I suspect. As found...Sort of an asymmetrical fender thing going on there...And after a little brim flattening, just by hand, no steaming...
That suit should have come with a jet pack and space helmet.
Or disco dance lessons. That suit should have come with a jet pack and space helmet.
Stetson Ambush? My buddy just picked one up off ebay, a 70s model I think, for the opening bid of $59. Saw one in my size for $125. I passed. I'm thinking you got a better deal...Ran onto this at my favorite thrift today.

Too Wlid Wild West for you? Ha ha. If it was a size bigger or I could lose the 10 lbs I put on my gut this summer I would wear it. As it is I think I might be able to sell it at the consignment shop as a Halloween costume.OK, Michael. Time for a refund. Still like the boots and hat, though.
I was wearing it in the "after" configuration this afternoon while I was out in the yard picking up butternuts. The after shape was certainly keeping the sun off of me, though it still wasn't comfortable out in the feels like 100 degrees heat and humidity. The fabric on the jacket/pants has a lot of '50s atomic fleck feel to it. I don't think it's anything like that old. I know I've seen similar bolero jackets on western wear sites, but I'm not turning them up at the moment.I like it both ways, but prefer the "after" shape which surely provides better protection from the elements.

I can't find any model name on this one. I must say I didn't think it would sell for anything around those prices. The thrift had $25 on it, but it was half price day today so it was $12.50. And at that price it was still only poor impulse control on my part that brought it home with me. Ha ha.Stetson Ambush? My mistake. They look similar, but his is a 4X Stetson Stampede. Similar hat band and feathers...Too Wlid Wild West for you? Ha ha.
