Nice looking Dobbs. I like the colour combo on that one. The one sided bow arrangement was used by a Dutch company called Nehoefa on their Staalmeester branded hats in the late seventies and early eighties. no I've never seen (what looks like) cord only in the bowI picked up this Royal Stetson from Weslynn's lot he posted in the classifieds. Very nice hat and it fits like a custom. Marked 7-3/8 LO, but fits better than my other Stetson LO also.
I brushed off the dust and dry creased it and it's good to go. Has anyone every seen a hatband/ribbon treatment like this before? @moontheloon and @alanfgag ?? The hat almost looks like a Stratoliner, but the sweat has no marking except Royal Stetson, JBS and the store where this one was sold.

Yes, it matches. It looks like the original sweat, liner and everything. I'll take better pictures. Even the price tag from the store and the other sticker with block size, hat size and reorder number are there. It looks original to me, but like Charlie says... I was wrong once before, so....
Fantastic looking hat. Great colour combo and nice form. As to the ribbon treatment: it may be the original bow. I have a Borsalino suprema with more or less exactly this treatment (picture below).OK, now that I took pictures and looked more closely, it seems to me that the liner was replaced at sometime. The thing is, the thread for the liner and the thread holding on the company size/price tag is too white, too new looking compared to the sweat, etc.
It has definite blue tones to it when you get outside. Inside it just looks like a grey hat. The paint on the wall behind the hat is grey, for comparison.
I like the specs, about 5-1/2" open crown and a 2-1/2" brim.

The colors intrigued and frightened me at the same time when I first laid eyes on it in its 'for sale' thread, but the overall dimensions and shape looked perfect for me, and the size promised to be spot-on, so I dove in.
I am pleased to report that the size is indeed spot-on, the proportions are perfect for me, and the colors are refreshingly completely different from the rest of my hats, which are more or less traditional fedora colors. I will wear this tomorrow if the day is warm and dry enough.
