I'll ask my kid to take a shot today. Mine's very similar, same colors of the ribbon and body, but a bit shinier: I've always wondered if it isn't some kind of plastic.

Homero Ortega does sell their hat bodies to Stetson, among others. These are the toquilla straw dyed blue. I saw the straw in various stages of completion and weavers coming in to pick it up.... in blue, black and brown.

Stitched down front ribbon similar to the Royal DeLuxe Playboy that I have seen.

Old version leather imprint.

I will "tune" the hat up early tomorrow morning and post up better pics in the "wearing" and Playboy threads. Lovely example of lightweight Playboy from the early days of it's sales by Stetson.

Ok.....here is the Stetson "The Highway"......posted with the "Stetsonian" I also bought......paid $129.99 for the Highway and got a real sweet deal of $75 for the Stetsonian........I can see I will be wearing the Highway a LOT.......very soft....very nice.......very pleased with both!!! The Highway is very much like the Premier Stratoliner or Whippet....2 1/2 inch brim and about a 5 1/2 inch crown. Really nice feel to the felt.......I really like the tan brim binding.....it is one of the "Buck Mason" series hats.......

AND The Highway's First crease......we will see where that leads from here (I have a habit of fiddling with the creases.....especially if I have to wait around for anything....).

Check the factory label under the sweat and see if it has the block depth

Just completely reversed the sweat and there are no other labels, just the 7 1/4 size tag that fell out. Theres a 6 drawn in sharpie on the reverse of the sweat but other than that nothing.

The colors intrigued and frightened me at the same time when I first laid eyes on it in its 'for sale' thread, but the overall dimensions and shape looked perfect for me, and the size promised to be spot-on, so I dove in.

I am pleased to report that the size is indeed spot-on, the proportions are perfect for me, and the colors are refreshingly completely different from the rest of my hats, which are more or less traditional fedora colors. I will wear this tomorrow if the day is warm and dry enough.

Yes, it sure was a deal on the Stetsonian and there was not a single thing wrong with it!!!! I think that particular hat intimidated people......it is a hell of a hat! And I am quite pleased spending the $130 on the Highway.....wore it last night to dinner!!! VERY SOFT, very comfortable hat!!!!!!! I have spent MUCH more on crap hats.........
